But the difficulty is extremely artificial. The only reason this was even an S rank was because he just decided not to do that attack with the pink lightning.
The first time I “beat” this game as a kid, I didn’t have enough emeralds or whatever to get the “true” ending which was the boss fight after this one. I eventually went back to the game and when I saw there was another fight I was dumbstruck
As a kid this boss was so hard to beat so every time I'd restart and play it I would hear over and over eggman saying get ready to be schooled and thanks to that its now engraved in my memory forever also in the end how does sonic get off the space station while it still falling???
Having earbuds in as you watch and listen to these nostalgic videoes is such a feeling as you hear it again after all these years, all of a sudden your senses are flooded with nostalgic recognition and memories, what a time! I’m so grateful for this game and everyone who worked on it!
@@JeremyJS Thank you for telling us that God never mentioned skipping Sonic's breakdancing sequence in Egg King's victory screen is a sin. I'm sure we wouldn't know it without your help.
This boss made me so angry cause I kept dying to it. But the stage being a floating piece of debris and your basically floating down while eggman tries to kill you is so fucking cool.
and if you do not have time to hit the head on the third impact on the platform, then the platform will break and you will fall and the whole bossfight will start from the beginning
I can't be the only one who thought Eggman Nega snapped at the final phase, right? Like, he literally didn't care about his own wellbeing anymore, he just wanted to kill Sonic.
@@OmegaChase1002 I respect your opinion, but I said "like" that boss. Instead of something like the QuickTime events in forces, or just the running forward and occasionally hitting the boss kinda fights we get in modern sonic games, I'd want to play something like this boss, or like the other bosses in this game.
@@Z2Obsidion this boss has an instakill move and a really annoying attack i call lightning spaghetti. Id like a boss like this but without moves like that.
Is it just me or is the boss way more difficult for me? The attacks are way more aggressive, I have all the chaos emeralds, so does that make a difference?
*THERE IS AN EASY MODE?* So you telling I wasted all these hours dying at all those bosses because I didn't realised I didn't play on easy mode? ... well, damm
@@bestshadow6585 yeah, in the options there’s an easy mode, all it does is make bosses shorter, so I beat the game with that bc the bosses aren’t the best
*Eggmen, but on a serious note, the hardest boss that I remember fighting created by eggman (not including sonic 1 and 2 final bosses. Those were Robotnik days) was the final boss fight in Sonic Advance 3. Not Nonaggression, I... I was never able to get all the emeralds. But the fight at Altar Emerald. I died so many times to that. The next hardest one, possibly harder, was the Twinkle Snow boss. I kept falling and dying. Overall, past sonic games had some difficult fights.
Mm, Classic and Advance bosses require careful observation amongst a number of retries to determine the attack pattern and the when and where to counterattack. As with the majority of modern gaming, modern bosses telegraph everything you need to know via brightly-lit billboard, and whatever they don’t telegraph the HUD conveys.
This legit has to be on of the coolest boss of a sonic game, the fact that you're fighting this boss while falling down is awesome, adds more coolness to this boss.
This was an incredible boss, but because of how hard it was, I put the game on easy both times I fought it. Eventually I will go back it defeat it on the default difficulty
I just got this game again today! That part where you climb the arm had me completely confused until I realized you're supposed to crouch so you don't get flung off (I though the D-Pad icon was telling you to spin or Spin-dash)! I absolutely love this game, but it does not do the best job explaining what to do (even the manual flat out doesn't tell you about the trick system/air dash controls, which are REQUIRED to beat the game--good luck beating the carnival level unless you how about R+Up!)
I came back to this video and looked at this comment and thought "take off a peice of clothes Everytime he does it??", and I looked at my correction comment and I understood
This boss is just annoying. So the egg king will try to smash you with his hands even though they’re a little too slow. And when it’s staying on the ground you need to hit it and the only way to do damage to it is by going to the cockpit and hitting it and hoping to not get shaked off. Luckily you can duck to avoid getting shaked off the arm. Sound simple right? Well here’s the catch. It later summons enemies that can damage you and you can’t duck and you get shaken off over and over again and you better hope for a good pattern. Not to mention when it’s close to dead it’ll use pink lasers and they’re very annoying to avoid so you’re gonna wanna get the rings back if you take damage. What’s even worse is that you fight it twice as both sonic and blaze. And it’s the exact same experience for both.
THIS FUCKING BOSS I tried to beat this guy for 2 weeks straight as a kid but I gave up here… I could probably beat him now but this damn near made me cry
Anyone know the one question where people ask: “Why don’t the bosses make their levels impossible!?” That’s what this boss is, I’m serious, this boss is a pain in the flipping ass, TOOK ME 11 YEARS TO BEAT THIS THING! AND THE SECRET FINAL BOSS TOOK ONLY LIKE 10 MINUTES!!!!!!!!
As a kid I had no idea you could hold down to not get thrown off. No idea how I missed that with the down pop up in the corner but hey I did. I actually used to beat this boss by waiting out the first shake and spin dashing at the right time to jump onto the arm and speed my way to the head.
