6:26 Glad to see that someone still remembers that the Trumpet is always and will always be the Icing on the cake when it comes to Sonic Music because honestly, Trumpets, Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Bass, Harp, Guitars, Electric Guitars, Electric Bass, Saxaphones, Percussion, and Pianos always come through (yeah, I'm kind of an Instrument nerd :P)
The only true Sonic Enthusiasts enjoy the content we get from SEGA and Sonic Team. We dont shit on any of the games and we enjoy them for what they are :)

The Sonic 4 music is actually really good (for both Sonic 4 and Sonic Superstars) but if you want abysmal sonic music than look no farther than Sonic Jam for the Game Com and Sonic Chronicles

People didn’t like press factory? Why? It’s a good level, with good music, awesome level design, and has the most creative gimmick in a Classic Sonic game. Two, actually.
I mean there is some that actually like jun classic Sonic style I mean if they don't mind the sound front sfx and ear bleeding sounds More power to them and especially you I do think I find it okay But at some point I know jun has been slender from making bad classic Sonic music since Sonic 4
Golden Capital 2 is actually phenomenal. This OST has the case of there really isn’t a song I “dislike” (besides the menu theme and some of the battle songs) but the mid stuff is just outshined by the good stuff. So many better songs than GC Act 2, but it’s still great

Actual Classic Sonic games tried to make the Genesis' YM2612 chip sound like actual instruments, but with Sonic 4, Forces' Classic Sonic music and most of Superstars, they just did the complete opposite. I feel like Jun completely missed the point of Classic Sonic music
Update: I've finally been able to play and beat sonic superstars and just as I suspected most people are getting mad at the game with the "difficulty" despite it being their skill issue, the levels weren't that difficult, although I do agree the later bosses are pretty hard although I enjoyed the game so, this game is an 8/10 for me really. Superstars is better than 1, 2, and CD although it's definitely not as good as Sonic 3&K and Mania. People need to calm down especially with the soundtrack (I am talking to you Aquaponieee) (Also, yes, Mugimikey called me out 😢) Update 2: Finally was able to beat Trip's Story and the True Final Boss, and wow my opinion changed, trips story is just too brutal for being hard mode although its not bad when you learn what comes your way, the real struggle is the bosses themselves, the final boss is a pain in the ass, anyways trips story made me realize that I'm being too generous 7/10 now overall in the game, as for the True final boss, it was a lot more easier really just grab those rings learn the patterns and you're good if you struggle on Trip's story, I don't blame you, if you struggle on the main story, thats a huge skill issue

All of these opinions are objectively correct. Something I've noticed with Jun's music is that the compositions themselves are great, it's just that godawful faux-genesis synths. If you listen to versions with altered instruments, they sound immediately better. And with the ones that are already amazing like Press Factory, the change in instrumentation makes them perfect.
I used to think that Press Factory Zone had pretty mediocre music, but after listening to both Act 1 and 2 for extensive periods of time, i have come to the conclusion that they are very good.
Unpopular opinion, but I really liked the music from both sonic 4 games. Never knew a lot of people hated the music from those games, as I’ve seen comments from others elsewhere how ‘jun be lacking’. I know everyone has their opinions, but that’s just mine. I loved the superstars ost and it’s just a bop overall. Glad they did my man Fang good here and didn’t give him lackluster music 🎉
You know what, I’m just gonna say it. I like Press Factory Zones OST. And I’m tired of pretending I don’t. And I think the Early Boss theme would have been better if it had a longer melody loop.
the menue theme makes me so nostalgic for sonic 4, I remember playing that on my phone in daycare when I was like 8 years old. a genuinely terrible game but the music does take me back to simpler times when a bad sonic game was the worst of my worries.

true Jun has gotten way better at genesis ost after sonic 4 and origins (looks like he was really not focusing on the sonic 3 origins placeholder tracks)...
06 was worse than Forces on a technical level, but 06 was also a more interesting game. Forces was just bland and forgettable. While 06 was very flawed, it was memorable and ambitious. That's why it's being remade via Project 06 to great reception.
@@TheTrueWolfkingI would only say 06 is better than forces because the game is actually entertaining and funny when it breaks (silver, blaze, and mephiles are in the game too). Forces was just really boring

I think If press factory had better volume mixing, it probably would not be criticized as much. But I 100% agree with your takes on the soundtrack. Jun Senoue is a great music artist in the sonic franchise, but his style of genesis sound design can be rough on the ears. (I do not hate it btw) I think sonic 4 Ep 2 has a great soundtrack from a rhythm composition perspective (even though it’s a bit under cooked) What I find interesting is that this kind of criticism happened to both Mighty No. 9 and Mega Man 11, both of those games had good music. So if you want to piss off more people for views, make a video on the music of those games.
not sure if that's controversial, I think mostly everyone agrees its good and is one of the best from the soundtrack despite being very repetitive for most of it, at least Jun is using the guitar for once instead of the sonic 4 instruments (btw the compositions of the "bad" music is good, its just the instruments they use which sound bad)
