Well, if you think about it, if they did a actual playable Classic Shadow, it wouldn't make sense canonically speaking because during the time of the first Sonic game, Shadow was still frozen and he didn't appear until Sonic Adventure 2. Also, given the laughing emoji, you probably had a good laugh. If so, I don't blame you, it is kinda funny, I didn't expect it to go like this.😆

I mean, Sonic Generations said Classic Sonic is Modern Sonic's past self, Sonic Forces retconned it to make Classic Sonic from another universe, then they flip flopped and made Classic Sonic as he was in Sonic Generations, and there's a chance they will either flip flop back to the alternate dimension or make Classic Sonic entirely different.
