There are. There's Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic 3 & Amy Rose. They're both classic Amy, though, but play the same. Cream doesn't Replace Tails in 3, either

+JesseRoxII Colors palette limitations are one reason.

I just realized, Emerald Hill Zone has the same colors as classic Amy's outfit, so using the classic Amy sprite wouldn't mess up any colors. I don't think palette limitations are the reason.

A keen observation. But then you'll run into problems in the other zones, such as Chemical Plant Zone which has no green palette. Unless if you want Amy to have a glitched palette in every other stage, you can't have Classic Amy's sprite alongside Cream's. (Perhaps you could make Classic Amy's colors suitable by changing her shirt red, I guess)

It's always been Amy's thing ever since the Advance trilogy, I believe.

She turned into a ball in Advance 2, and I think Heroes took that route as well.

she has fewer quills than sonic, to the point of barely looking like a hedgehog anymore, and it's interesting to give her her own distinctive moveset as a playable character. however, considering the fact that tails, cream and other non-hedgehog characters can roll up in a ball, i think it would make a lot more sense if amy could do it too. maybe she has back problems?

Good idea! Did the creators not want to make their own sprites for a game they did not make? I would have went with your idea. I think messing with the sprites is not difficult, because they added Amy and Cream in, but their design is probably based off their appearance from Sonic Advance (I'm not counting the graphics, and I know Cream is not in Advance 1, but is in Advance 2 and 3).

+Darrian Harris You need to use a rom modifier with the Sonic 2 rom (which you can find on any rom site like coolroms or emuparadise ) and the Sonic 2 Pink Edition.bin and then use a Sega Genesis Emulator (for PC and Mac, Fusion, for Linux, retrocopy, for Android, Gensoid, and for PSP, picodrive) , or the Everdrive. (If you have one, it's $78.00 for the Everdrive MD version 2 and $143.00 for the Mega Everdrive Version 2) Hope that helps! ^_^

In Android MD.emu is faster and less bug everything is the most closest to the real hardware
