In spite of all the flack, this game had some truly breath-taking stages, I can only imagine how some of them would look with the processing power of PS4 or Xbox One.
I don't care what you say about this game as a whole but one thing YOU CAN NOT DO is disrespect Sonic 06's Kingdom Valley (particularly Sonic's rendition of the level). That stage is easily TOP 5 most visually appealing, well layed out, atmospheric, innovative stage IN THE HISTORY OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. The 4th section of the stage was jaw dropping the first time I viewed it, running along the path at high speed while the walls of water towered over Sonic as Eggman's robots attempted to gun you down, and the music.......my god.....if Kingdom Valley's "Water" track didn't please your ears you simply couldn't have heard it and the other pieces of music from the other 3 sections definitely hold their own as well.Sonic 06 wasn't a perfect game we know, but Kingdom Valley was one of the games biggest gems no doubt, it boggles my mind how it was not chosen to respresent 06 in Generations.
I find it funny how every other Mach speed section had some reason behind it (Chase the egg carrier, run from the tornado) and this one is just like "Eh, Sonic just felt like going fast"
@@D00DM00D Each stage has a variety of up to three routes to follow, and this division of paths isn't present only once in each stage, to say that Forces Level Design is linear is unfair and stupidly pointless criticism, are you dumb?
@@Galaxy-eh1tz The linearity is that each route alternate route is only a short diversion, and leads back to the main route very quickly. The alternate routes exist, but are short and have little effect on the stage as a whole. Examples being the 4 way split at egg gate, the rails in Modern Chemical plant, and the small 2 route split in sunset heights that barely lasts 5 seconds.
The only well designed level in the game. There's so many paths and shortcuts. Really gives you perspective how the game would be if the rest of the game was like this.
Dusty Desert, White Acropolis, Tropical Jungle have just as many pathways to get to the goal ring. All of the levels are well designed, the characters just don't play as good.
Despite the hate this game gets I remember making it to this stage for the first time which was recently (I've had the game since launch) and I was just blown away by it, particularly the Mach Speed section. The music for it also sounded incredible.
No I played it a while ago and despite what I said here my dislike for the game remains. It was just too glitchy, was plagued with far too many loading screens and the last episode was just HORRENDOUS. Never going near this game ever again. If however they remade it and completely fixed all the issues I would happily play it again but until then no.
At 6:46 when you jump onto a solid wall of water stop and run across I'm over here like how! How is that physics possible! It's bad ass though. Or as sonic would say in this game "***That was incredible!***"
I didn't love it, but I saw great potential in it, and definitly got some enjoyment out of it. If it was given more time, I'm sure it would've been amazing
If you love it, don't have to fight for why it's not a bad game, just enjoy it. All I can say, I've had my fair share (20%) considered bad games, but I enjoy them none of the less for what they were worth.
You see it's videos like these that make me believe every time that Sonic 06 doesn't have as many glitches as people say and that the game like Sonic Unleashed is underrated. This game had so much potential I mean what if they made the game not to celebrate the 16nth anniversary of sonic, then maybe it would be less broken or atleast a story upgrade. Its so sad when you see what it could have been.
look at the shortcut he took with the eagle at the beginning. that saves time. also collect a bunch of rings in the mach speed section. I got 200+ when i got my first S on the level
Shadow does not go through the 1st or 4th section that Sonic goes through. And he goes through a different area of the 2nd section than Sonic. So only the 3rd section is really backwards.
