Damn, switching between the Red and Purple Gems like that was a creative way of moving and saving time. Though in all honesty, the Red Gem (slowing down time) always seemed like an ability better suited for Shadow, ESPECIALLY since we see him doing it in a cutscene.
I'm not sure if this will save time or not, but a few times trying to run this level I found you can fall through that vertical section at 0:56. I'm finding it hard to get reliably enough to put it to video though.
You always say there's "room for improvement" and I always say, *"How is that possible?!"* ...Except in this case, I see you could have triggered the only-vertical-movement with the spring at 1:37 and gotten to the top spring faster.
***** What's good in theory? The game has a few slowdowns, but most are not because of any graphical effects. Most of them are caused by issues with the physics engine
Irixion The fact that it runs at 60 fps and never drops frames is what's good in theory, but not in practice. If there's a lot of things going on at once, the game will slow down instead of skipping frames to maintain the pace.
***** Choppy gameplay fucks with how you react. You've never tried playing Minecraft on a potato? That's unplayable. At least when it slows down you can still time your jumps
Am I seriously the only guy that know that if you hold down the jump button whenever on the board, sonic's maneuverability increases astoundingly to the point where you can even spin in place?
You could get between 2:40 and 2:45 if you didn't take so much damage in the mach speed section. Still a good run. That first section was godlike. Good work, DsS.
