Agreed, Mimic sucks at his job. What kind of Inflitrator tries to kill his team all at once instead of one by one, in a closed area where NOBODY could see him.

Either that or Duo sucks at his job.

Y e a h me too, this really does leave me doubting the hype and competency mimic has been built up to have. Tho while execution is everything, I feel that trope works much better with characters more early on in their journey. At this point sonic’s whole group is so tight knit that it’s hard to believe they’d be so blindly trusting to a sketchy imposter. They’re chill and forgive and forget and are overall welcoming and nice, but they’re not oblivious. I feel it this went on a bit longer it might’ve just had an inverse effect of us doubting the relationship and competence of characters who literally fought in a war together. At minimum, I’m glad the 2 characters put on the spot are at least acting in character and just blindly going along. Silvers naive and insecure enough to be a little too trusting and doubt himself due to lack of social interactions growing up. But he does have a naively childish sense of right and wrong, so even if he doubts himself, he’ll never fully given into that. If he has a hunch something’s wrong (in IDW at least) he’s usually right, and he knows that. He just didn’t know how to vocalize it yetc let’s be real. Tangle’s to inattentive, and lanolin doesn’t know anyone well enough to be a proper judge. Besides, she was reasonably preoccupied with the fall. She was just tryna be the mediator to a fight what with how “Duo” is the newest/weakest and most experienced of the team And whisper is always quiet and attentive and literally worked WITH mimic before, there’s no way he’d honestly be able to fool her for long. She’s spent years regularly hunting and fighting the guy. And ever since he got arrested he doesn’t even know how far she’s come while he hasn’t changed much at all (which is ironic considering he’s an octopus). If anything he’s more underprepared her than he thinks with what little info he’s running off of. Tbh I don’t even know why he attempted to kill silver when he already confirmed how dangerously strong he is and how he never even learned his full power 💀 So yeah, a little contrived, it’s at least mostly in-character. and while I wish it was a tiny bit longer, but I completely understand why things will go this way. I’ll admit at first I was sure I could see where this was going, but with them catching on so early, I’m genuinely more interested and hyped for where this story will go for the first time in ages

It suits Mimic’s personality. He’s someone who would jump at an opportunity to do things as quickly as possible, regardless of if it would be better in the long term to simply wait for a better chance.

The guy who made the solicitation read a different version of the comic or something like that XD. The solicitation is wrong

Honestly, I like it. There’s always a flaw that winds up being a villain’s undoing, and Mimic’s has clearly shown to be impulsiveness and impatience, jumping at the opportunity to off Silver instead of waiting for a better time.

I would love to see human characters in the near future being that Sonic and Blaze is in a human places. Hopefully they will be in there.

Eh, maybe Eggman killed them all, during the timeskip of Forces. With Sonic and Shadow gone, G.U.N would be the major organised threat at the time.

So Eggman did “put G.U.N in there place when I took over…” in Tailstube so maybe they’re trying to recuperate from it. But Eggman commit gen*cide of his own kind!?!! That’s crazy

At the beginning of the story the Diamond Cutters speaking with Belle who's fixing Whisper's whispon, before they head out they bumped to Silver.

Silver feels way bumped out after conversation with Espio.
