@@imarock.7662 "What kinda dumb logic is that." The kind that recognizes certain generic movie scores as what they are, quickly produced and disposable. When you care about a product more than the people who made it, you've lost any hope of having a credible opinion on the matter.
@@OilFreeFeathers So what you're saying is when you care about quality in a product that you pay for with your own money your opinion doesn't matter??? Now THAT is dumb logic.
@@gamblingprince9744 Doesnt make it completely necessary to be honest. I'd prefer the scores in Nolan's movies better serve the scenes/films than Elfman's iconic/recognizable Batman themes.
I teared up when i seen that SEGA logo intro. I wish they had a Jaleel White cameo just have him be tom's new neighbor named Steve so that way it's a Urkel and a Sonic refrence all rolled into one I hope he gets a cameo in the next one.
Tika..perfect hmm well ok opinions. Anyway i hope Shadow is introduced at some point even down to his dark background story and his distrust for humans.
@@AzureFIame I meant from a technical aspect. Like flawless skin, perfect teeth, extra bright colors and the lighting on her looked so unreal compared to other characters on screen. Is like you couldn't even tell the actress have any signs of make up or anything. That and I think she's pretty....Anyways, introducing Shadow would be way to early, plus Shadow is like the deep-end of the Sonic Lore spectrum if you know what I mean. That's like some, "Avengers: Endgame" kinda shit lol.
"At least SEGA is allowing people to use their IPs." Ed Annunziata: "Ay, can I make a new Ecco game since the last one on Genesis ended on a cliffhanger?" SEGA: "No game. Only port..."
Thankfully that Olive Garden thing didn't do anything for me cause we don't have those were I live so I took it as "Well, was expecting a medal or something but food is cool too!".
When you keep your expectations low, you're not expecting orchestral variations of Sonic tunes during epic moments, and are pleasantly surprised whenever any music is used.
Like Max said I thought it would be sonic 06 standards but when I watched it I agree with you it was actually a good movie I don't meen like really good I meen like I would watch it from time to time but not repeatedly
(probably spoilers) I just saw the movie, I was worried, Sonic is by far my favorite game franchise, and I was surprised, the movie was really good, I love Jim Carrey as Robotnik, at the very end when he's bald, omg, I can see him become the Robotnik of Sonic '06 (not so cartoonish). And I agree 100% about the music, I got really excited at the Paramount logo because they put a version of Green Hill, the rest is meh, at the final chase, when they go through the rings, the could totally have used, for example, a new version or Sandopolis Zone when they went to Egypt, or even use 'City Escape' the whole scene; or use the EGGMAN theme frome Sonic Adventure when he was dancing and stuff. And I'm super super excited for Tails (if they do the next movie) he also looks great. I think Robotnick will find one of the Chaos Emeralds, and then we can have like a movie with the story of Sonic 2/3/& knuckles, the Echidnas tribe exist, so we can have the emeralds
Jim Carrey said in an interview that he chose that song, I think it’s called Evil Grows, that he danced to. There was a reason behind that but I can’t remember it. It was a fun little scene :)
Too much nostalgic music may have turned general audiences away. Now that they're indoctrinated, we can expect more in the sequel. I never expected this one to go all in on that.
My friends and I loved the movie since we are big fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise (except for the obvious bad ones). But like Maximillian, I was blown away by the Sega movie logo. I wouldn't mind seeing a Streets of Rage, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop, and even a Virtual On movie.
@@Alex_Logan22 What I meant was they're treating it as being on the same level as Jackson showing up. I mean... it's Tails. Is that really a "OMG YOU GOTTA STAY FOR THE SCENE IT'S FUCKING AMAZING" moment? It's like if during one of the Batman movies, Robin shows up as a stinger. Yeah, he's the hero's right hand dude.
Streets of rage the movie That would be mindblowing; the music, the asthetics, and they need to do it like Daredevil/Luke cage/ Jessica jones style from Netflix.
Felt like a movie of the two sides of mental illness. Sonic was dealing with being alone and his saw his own version of the world. Robotnic was also going insane and losing his touch with his humanity. Movie was a good watch.
A Gamer For Fun Iggums Robotnik did go insane in the comics after he lost to Sonic so many times and was locked up in the Egg Dominion by his nephew Snively. It happened in Sonic the Hedgehog #200.
Well now that you’re checking out Sonic stuff you guys NEED to try Sonic Smackdown. It’s a fan fighting game with a ton of inspiration from MvC. I think it would be up Max’s alley especially.
This may be a hot take but I firmly believe this is the best video game movie ever made. P.S. Movie music isn't that important? Well by that dumb logic video game music isn't that important.
The producers of Sonic wanted to do more in Sonic's world but just didn't have the budget to produce more CGI stuff, but with it being so successful, we'll def have a sequel to it and explore more of the true Sonic story plus more classic characters. And Also! Let's not forget Mario is getting an animated theatrical film sometime in 2021 by Illumination that's gonna be written and directed by Miyamoto himself. so we will most definitely will get more video game movies!
When I was in the theater i was sitting next to a kid like 6 or 7 and he was ugly laughing through out the movie. at first it was a little annoying but then i was able to enjoy the movie more because he was having such a good time. Also his dad was doing the same when ever Jim Carry was on screen.
Took my daughter to see it today and I liked it. Much better than I expected it to be! Just like Max, seeing the "SCU" sequence at the beginning was very cool! I grew up a Nintendo kid and never really had any attachment to SEGA or Sonic. Even so, I still had a pretty good knowledge of his games, memes, etc. My favorite jokes were "I hate mushrooms" and "Blue Devil." I think Sonic himself was done very well. As for Jim Carey, I only ever liked him in the first Ace Ventura and Dumb & Dumber... nothing else. That being said, I thought he was great in this movie! If a sequel happens, I will definitely see it.
As a very critical but a very loving Sonic the Hedgehog fan I can honestly say, overall I really enjoyed it... but somethings could be tightened up (some human writing and acting), but the pacing was good; and they nailed what was important sonic's, and robotnic character, and the movie had some really funny & tender moments. ...and the nailed sonic's speed, both in mechanics and visual flair. If sequels are made- this could turn into something special. ...And I hope I get to see that happen.
I gotta be honest, I kinda love AGGRESSIVE product placement. Like having the main character drink a Coca-Cola? Lame. Having the main character have their entire house Coca-Cola themed, painted, covered in the logo, and being the only thing in their fridge while telling a story about how Coca-Cola changed his life? Awesome.
Everybody was hyped when Tails appeared at my theaters! I was too! The music is awesome! They played the Sonic Mania intro theme too! I can’t wait for the sequel! Guys, I lost my mind too when I saw the Sega Cinematic Universe too😂😂
Well some of the modern Sonic Games are good, Sonic Colors, Lost World, Generations, and Forces was alright but I think it mostly failed because they released Sonic Mania with it. I would put Adventures 2 but people are usually torn between that one I think.
Honestly the only really like, aggressively bad modern Sonic games Sonic were like 06 , Shadow and Sonic Chronicles. I think people get caught up in the "Sonic was never good" meme a little too hard tbh. There's been more mediocre Sonic games than outright bad and, unfortunately for perception, really good games.
