"full blown Goku" No, he went full Zeno in this scene. Alf layla wa layla destroyed *everything* by existing. That means the 1001 universes that were the arabian nights. Sonic just recreated them with a hand motion. I'd say he's low outerversal.
I love this fight because unlike all the other final bosses where Sonic goes Super and basically throws his invincible body at his opponent to do damage he is very much vulnerable and instead beats the crap out of Alf Layla wa-Layla almost MGS-style.
The Impossible Dingo It just goes to show how, for once, both a super form of Sonic and his adversary are on equal terms. No running away or simply warding off the inevitable, just 2 super powered beings going at it in an all out battle to determine the fate of the world of the Arabian Nights and Sonic's world.
@@greenD7244 That sounds true actually. I sort of forgot that the gameplay was the bad part, not the story. Slip up on my part, thanks for reminding me. :)
Even though I don't own the game officially, I felt complete adrenaline just merely watching this boss fight by mimicking how the Wii remote and Nunchuk would play pounding at this disgusting beast's main cardiovascular system.
When I first saw that Hoopa's Unbound Forme on an ORAS leak, I thought it can't be real, and that it was fake. But I only was aware of Alf Layla-wa-Layla on a Let's Play afterwards as a curiosity on what kind of Djinn and disgusting beast inspired that forme of Hoopa.
I thought the same when I saw hoopa lol. Now they've got sonic using ring portals in the upcoming movie. I think he stole their powers at some point. 😹
@@ShadicRothZz1998 Pretty sure Shara’s only purpose was to teach Sonic about his abilities in his Darkspine form. There’s nothing saying Sonic absorbed Shara’s power/magic and he fought and defeated Alf la wayla wa wayla by himself. What I meant was that Sonic doesn’t need his friends to be by his side and fighting with him to defeat god.
Y'all both realise that the power of friendship isn't a literal power that fuels the character right? What it means is that the character is spurred to even greater heights by the thoughts, presence or encouragement of their friends. As he literally screams for her to help him, and she does, it is indeed the power of friendship. Whether the power of friendship is a glorified tutorial or not is irrelevant.
@@ShadicRothZz1998 Yes, but in Forces (and other Sonic games) your definition of the power of friendship does not match it. Sonic doesn't get motivated by his friends, well not solely, he literally unlocks other abilities through them. There's actually a canon reason why the power of friendship works for Sonic in some cases. The chaos emeralds require positive emotions to create infinite power and is why Sonic even achieved his super form against Chaos in Adventure 1 in the first place. However, in forces the emeralds don't even exist in the plot, this is what I mean by "power of friendship".
It's such a rare treat that we get to see Sonic just haul off and beat the shit out of someone. Usually he's utilizing his speed and spindashing so the best we could hope to get out of him are a few divekicks, a tackle and maybe a roundhouse on a good day. It's not often we get to see him just start beating someone into the dirt.
+ΩGlitchyRedKidΩ source of inspiration maybe? or could there be a famous genie character that looks like this that both of these characters are based on?
God i miss Jason Griffith so much, he brought many emotions, and variety to his performances, as shadow, sonic, jet, etc. I wish he could reprise one of those roles... . . . . . . . . . . . . I also wish, for as unlikely as it is, that he could voice shadow in Sonic 3
did you guys know it wasn't all 7 of the world rings that turn sonic into darkspine sonic it was only 3 which was green ring (hatred) red ring (rage) purple ring (sadness)
In the cutscene before the battle, he had all seven rings for a moment. But for some reason 3 of the rings were removed from his body and enters Sonic's body
Did anyone notice in the smoke that alf layla wa layla released after getting smacked by darkspine sonic had the color of the world rings in them. This means that for every hit he did he ejected 1 world ring for every smoke hole.
which is exactly why this game stands apart from the rest! i honestly remember having such a blast punching the boss without any mercy. it didnt feel wrong or anything to do at all, considering sonic's just been doing what he feels like he has to do. and well, the rings have been affecting him as well
Hold up: So, Alf Layla Wa Layla literally destroyed *everything* by existing, that means all of the 1001 Universes the Arabain Nights holds. And Sonic just recreates it *perfectly* with nothing but a *hand motion!* Darkspine Sonic is Alien X except he was the one before Alien X.
@@peynnep6483 Of course my friend. Ever since Sonic rush sonic kinda has always been low multiversal. I say that because he fought powerful gods ever since rush.
No, Sonic in that form Is for much universal buster, the same with Alf Layla Wa Layla. Both they didn't show their true power with the seven world rings.
2:00 This is the best point where Shahra is moved how sonic uses her powers. Sonic screams exactly after what Shahra said its like he gained even more power from her words
The Emerald Cyborg Hearing it in the menus, after every mission, etc got annoying, however hearing it where I feel it rightfully belongs, as the true final boss theme, is amazing
The menu version should have been a build up a la the menus in Mk Wii: starting with a Bass Guitar, then adding percussion, then eventually culminating in the lead instruments, keeping the vocals for the finale
My boss battle Defeat the coronavirus 0:00 Coronavirus: I am... the king of germs... 0:07 Coronavirus: The pandemic of this world... are Mine... 0:12 Me: If this is your world then it’s a world that I don’t want any part of! Coronavirus: Mahahahahaha
Eh, if each ring heightens a core emotion Sonic would basically be the same as normal since he collected them, but probably kinda tired after a sensory overload Also cool powers & stuff but yeah, same cocky yet well-spoken guy as always
Though I never played this game, it looks pretty amazing and is something I think I would enjoy, but, at least I had finally finished the first Sonic game ever played, after 11 years of the Egg King kicking my ass, because my god, Sonic Rushes Egg King boss is the most difficult boss in the entire franchise I swear!
Yeah, but those are just random rings. They don’t look like the World Rings. Besides, they grant you the ability to create. I assume making accessories is included.
Wants a chilli dog, ends up defeating a god, become a god himself and afterwards have someone yet again fall for him as he is now the new ruler of whatever place it is - Sonic in more than half his games
@@EpicGamer-69 that's wrong actually. Lan Flynn himself stated that archie vs game would end in a stalemate. Game has defeated very similar gods that are on the same level as archie. The main premise is that: Archie has more powers and hax (via ultra) Game has more power (via hyper) Both super forms are on par with each other and game has fate, wish and miracles manipulation via emeralds, archie already has those.
Professional E-scorts player Technically, given his access to Time Break, it'd be more accurate to say MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA WRRRYYYYYYYYY ZA WARUDO Probably not in that order
the sonic-series just has a unice combination of epic awesomeness and pure cringe! at 15 i wanted to become exactly like THIS - and nowadays i'm both happy and sad that it didn't happen.
Erazor: he beat the shit out of my exposed heart till I lost consciousness. Chaos: he did the same to me... Twice. Solaris: he and 2 other hedgehogs jumped me. Biolizard: *lizard noises* Dark Gaia: he took my fucking eyes... Somewhere in the egg base Metal Sonic feels left out.
I always compared this boss fight to a workout. Fighting this boss always leaves my arms exhausted. Mostly because in order to fill up the soul gauge, I have to repeatedly shake the wii remote. Same thing for kicking that giant ball and beating the shit out of the boss.
@@jasonblack2477 no- the homing attack on its own doesn’t do anything unless it’s a legacy level. However, when you do a homing attack on an enemy and swing the sword just before you hit the enemy while playing as Sonic (I’m not sure if the other 3 have any moves similar to this though), you do a buzzsaw sort of attack that just shreds right through enemies (though A, you will be penalized if an enemy’s back is turned towards you if you do this, and B, civilians will be caught in the crossfire if there are any).
I asume he would look like his normal selv, but possibly still wear golden rings around his wrists and is somewhat like Dio Over Heaven(JOJO) but have a reality alter range on the size of what equals the Arabbian nights
I so desperately wish Secret Rings had more songs so this final fight could feel appropriately epic. But as it is, hearing Seven Rings in Hand for the billionth time during the final boss, when the menu and stage complete also use it, just kinda comes across as more grating than cool.
Just got the CD soundtrack for this game today at 11:00a.m. and it's the Seven Rings In Hand: Sonic and the Secret Rings Original Sound Track CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 8:30p.m. 11/14/2023
Transience Considering how long ago it was made, its actually decent for Sonic. So upset that controls are horrible, the idea of an Arabian Nights story with a really dark undertone is brilliant.
@@kitkatiecat The controls weren’t unplayable but hard. Everything else is just perfect tho, can’t believe due to the negative backlash we never got another storybook game. I heard sega actually planned to send Sonic to Ancient Greek mythology for the next storybook game but due to the reception it got cancelled.
I like it when I just kicked away the blast and beat the living shit out of that monster. My favorite is when I punch the heart and Sonic screams in anger and the monster screams in pain.
