Shortly after Dr. Eggman is thwarted on Angel Island, new trouble begins to stir! Fang is sent on an Emerald hunt. Knuckles has an unexpected run-in back on his Island. Meanwhile, the cunning Doctor is studying new ways to utilize the Chaos Emeralds.
This comic was made as a tie-in for Noah N. Copeland's fangame, which is a 16-bit remake of Sonic Triple Trouble! You can check out the comic and fangame here:

If you're wondering what Knuckles needs the Emeralds for: When he sees Metal Sonic, he immediately figures out what's going on, and recalls the Emeralds so that Eggman can't take them.

@@AhmedGH433 I think you meant(spoilers): Or, Metal transformed into knuckles, and said that they needed the 7 chaos emeralds. I don't think Metal can exactly speak, so I'm not so sure about this.

Oh, snap, this is the tie in comic! I finished Sonic & Tails' campaign yesterday, and was very confused when I saw a "Comic Artist," section in the credits. Man, I love all the effort made to make 16-Bit really feel like it's from a timeline where Triple Trouble really was made for the Gensis from the start. It's all s o cool.

This game is so good! The only part I didn’t have fun with was the boss of the second act of the final zone. Everything else was just a joyride all the way through. Sega might as well just pay the devs money and make this an official remake at this point lol

I like how similar Robotnik's voice in this dub is to Nega's voice in the Rivals series - that nasally arrogance and sneakiness seeping through the bombastic delivery is perfect. The voice for Nack/Fang works perfectly for the character, and that greedy chuckle at the end of his scene was a nice touch.

Probably won’t happen, Izuka said that those are “classic characters” that exist in the new “classic universe” but I’d like to see them in a modern game one day.

Why on Earth/Mobius does Knuckles need the Chaos Emeralds? Knuckles is a beast in the 16-bit version , he could impale Metal Sonic's face in one punch. I know that he has the dive drill move 2 games ahead of when he should. But your game should at least make sense by itself.
