A fantastic Sega Genesis-inspired fangame remake of the one exclusive Game Gear Sonic platformer game. This game was completely transformed to be its own Sonic 4 where it takes place directly after Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
It's been three years since since I started a playthrough of the Game Gear original, and it's also now the 32nd Anniversary of ALL of Sonic the Hedgehog! This is part of my celebration of it!

Before I start this playthrough, I go to the Sound Test to input a code, 19, 94, 10, 18. This stands for October 18th, 1994, the original release date of Sonic & Knuckles. When playing as Sonic, he doesn't have his Insta-Shield. Using this Sound Test code gives it back to him. You'll get it right when you hear a Ring sound.
I just wanted to spice up this playthrough a little bit more.

Taking place right after Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic the Hedgehog had just defeated Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in latest Death Egg Robot in outer space, and managed to retrieve the Master Emerald from his. With his little buddy, Miles "Tails" Prower, piloting to Tornado plane, the Sonic & Tails brought the Master Emerald back to Angel Island, allowing it to float back into the heavens once more.
Knuckles the Echidna, who was originally an enemy to Sonic that was merely tricked by Eggman, now saw him and Tails off from the island after returning his Master Emerald.
But then soon afterwards... the duo entered into a thunderstorm and decided to land on a different island nearby...

Sonic & Tails exclusive play as a team in this game. Rare to see in any Sonic game, you can switch between the two characters on the fly to take advantage of their different moves.
Sonic mostly plays like his S3&K self, but this fangame also gives him his Drop Dash from Sonic Mania, and like I said before, I enabled a cheat that gave him back his Insta-Shield attack. His Strike Dash from the original Triple Trouble is combined with his Super Peel-Out from Sonic CD to make the Strike Dash Peel-Out. Sonic also also use all of his other Shield Attacks from 3&K when he picks them up, including the Blast Attack from the Yellow Shield from Sonic 3D Blast.
Tails mostly also plays like his 3&K self. He can fly, swim (and eventually get tired from doing either for too long) and he can carry Sonic with him. You can even make him fly and carry Sonic while you're still using Sonic yourself with Up+Jump.

The shore that the duo land in it full of scrap from the now-demolished Death Egg. They eventually run into the same huge robot that they thought was destroyed after the Doomsday Zone.
Without hesitation, Sonic & Tails called upon the power of the Chaos Emeralds to attack Eggman once more in their Super forms. They were seemingly invincible and ready to finish the doctor off...
But then... Eggman managed to use some Big Arms to grab the duo, and slam the Chaos Emeralds right out of them! Eggman managed to pick one of them up, but the other six were suddenly spirited away. He was forced to run away and try to find them, and Sonic & Tails, back in their normal forms, were no worse for wear to travel through the new island and do the same, all while taking down Eggman's NEW forces on this land.
Though... it looks like they weren't the only ones after the missing Emeralds... A purple, treasure hunting jerboa named Fang the Sniper was also eager to get to those jewels, first!
