Sonic Unleashed - (3/3) - First time playing! 

I grew up playing this game and loved it, but I do agree it has its flaws that make it a little hard to play. I played it on Xbox and prefer it on Xbox just because of the gaming mechanics, it was confusing with the medals since you need to collect a certain amount to continue gameplay and I didn't know. Werehog stages can be tricky to really hard sometimes but I learned to love it after getting used to it. Music is beautiful, story was really good, art style is very sonicy, and the hub worlds are so fun to explore. If they ever remaster this game I hope they fix some of things that you listed down, along with other things. I'm glad you got to play this game, even with all the difficulties that you had. It was real fun watching you play one of my first Sonic games.

I’m so happy people are still having their first experience with this game. By far my favorite Sonic game, and one of my favorite games of all time. Sonic and Chip’s adventure around the world together will always hold a special place in my heart.

Fun fact did you know Jason Griffith(sonic’s VA) had strep throat during the production of Unleashed so in all of his voice lines he’s trying to hide that fact since all of the voice recordings were made during the time Jason had strep throat

When I was around 9 years old, my first eggmanland run was 45 minutes, now I can do it easily in 20 minutes or less xD

3:41:07 Fun fact! RAD (Robo Alchemic Drive) was the progenitor to the game series we now know was Earth Defense Force. It uses the original engine the very first EDF would use, and it is made by the same people who then went on to make EDF after releasing RAD. Masafumi Tadaka, the composer at sandlot, has worked on RAD and the ofiginal EDF and still works on the EDF games and other game series like Daganronpa! Fun little history lesson!

This is easily the most ambitious 3D Sonic game that's ever come out; it's crazy we've not had another Sonic game of this level of ambition since. It's just a shame there's so many design issues that hold it back so much that by Eggmanland, with the lack of drop shadows, bad slope detection on the pipes, leaps of faith as well as the massive length of the level, it was just becoming a miserable experience that I wanted it to be over, on my first go around this game. QTEs really get annoying and overdone and Sonic himself is so slippery that he's tricky to control on platforming sections. It's also the only game that has the jump and homing attack be on separate buttons which is really dumb and awkward as every other game had those two moves on the same button and it plays on your muscle memory. Doesn't help that the homing attack button is also the boost button, so you're highly dependent on the targetting cursor. So in the end, it's a fantastic looking game that still looks great 14 years later; it just has too many control and design problems that hold it back so much and really tests your frustration level.

I played this game on PS2 but I can’t beat it because it was too hard but I glad you enjoyed it

I like this game, but the night levels are meh, im still stuck at the night ice level.

I was playing the last level until what I was playing on broke.

They knew how BS they designed Eggmanland that they put free lives in front of a checkpoint and behind the hard obstacle. So the level took you 80 minutes, with the Game Over'd attempt. That's about expected for a first timer; it took me an hour and it was a miserable hour with the amount of trial and error in the level. It takes an expert runner, with everything maxed out and without glitching through the level, at least ten minutes to get through without dying, which gives an idea just how long the level is, even at speed.

I think the thing that really killed the game was the difficulty, and it being way too stricty, and hard especially for new players. Otherwise, it a great Sonic game.

I think that, in long term run, the game pays that 'mechanics 'that can be seen as 'flaws'', being difficult and the medals, and everything else that in the first play can see as a big problem. I had the game for years, and after some time, i just... Doesn't see almost anything as a problem itself (in mechanics). The major thing for me of this game it's the whole werehog story mode thing. I played, i mastered the game, and still ask myself: (it's just an opinion, though, ok? Don't be rough on me) why Sonic Team put this garbage idea of gameplay and aesthethics into almost 60% of the stages gameplay? Don't agree with this direction. Why doesn't put knuckles, or anything else to battle? They could even put more story behind sonic's friends. There's a bunch of other gameplay mechanics of other characters that can be implemented and improved. Why just Sonic, and the WORST of it? I love this game, but this core of the game just kill it for me. And this eggman is dumb compared to adventure 2.
