I'm very sure the only reason she did that was that he wanted to include Super Sonic in the fight. It's the same reason She somehow overcame Super Saiyan Goku in a past animation from this same animator. If he cared abt power scaling, this fight would have been *UP, OVER, AND **_GOOOOONE_* in one second flat.

All “non research” fights should really just be renamed to “spite against other fandoms of the dude who would obviously win” fights. Because all they serve is to make the character who would obviously lose win and to intentionally try and piss off the fans of the character who obviously would take that matchup without any issues. Goku should’ve obliterated lilac, but of course jack’s simp like nature for his waifu didn’t allow it. That’s the only reason she won that fight, that and he probably didn’t want to receive backlash from two of The biggest scaling fandoms simultaneously, especially with Sonic fans over him losing to his budget counterpart.

Game/X/IDW/Post Genesis wave Archie Sonic (who are more or less interchangeable in terms of speed and power) are way beyond being way beyond overkill for freedom planet. Even OVA Sonic would one shot her, she would be incapable of beating any incarnations of Sonic actually, even SATAM Sonic as all of them blitz her. SATAM Sonic is casually a mach 5 character, Lilac is incapable of going at Mach 1 or even 600 MPH. Her only chance of victory against SATAM, AOSTH or Movie Sonic is in the impossible scenarios where any one of those particular 3 just stand there completely motionless and do nothing to defend against or avoid Lilac’s attacks, while she gets to pull off every attack she possibly can, maybe then she could win. Against the most fodder versions of sonic, lmao. And that’s only due to the fact their attack potencies are in the building level ranges, aka more or less in the same league, not like it matters cause Lilac couldn’t even hit those fodder incarnations anyways, so her capacity to hurt them is 99.9999999% meaningless. Even OVA Sonic would be invincible to her as he’s city level, meanwhile Lilac at maximum wank isn’t even City Block Level. People like Shadow, Silver, or Blaze are types she stands no chance against, period, mainly due to them being modern era exclusive characters and thus there’s no versions of them she could even so much as harm, they’re literally above her character conceptually in all aspects (what I mean by that is basically no matter which versions of the characters you choose, you can composite one and limit the other to one iteration, aka the most unfair disadvantage you can give any character in a vs debate, and the other will still get clapped 1000000000000/100 times, regardless of circumstances). The weakest version of shadow you can pull out for example, is X Shadow and he’s more or less on par with his Adventure Era self. Even Jedi and Sith from Star Wars or Part I Naruto Characters would murder Lilac. Let alone anything from the Sonic franchise, especially in the OVA, Game, IDW, X, Or Post Genesis Archie Continuities. *don’t even get me started on the overpowered deity that is Pre Super Genesis Wave Archie Sonic, who in terms of power, is someone we’d require Xeno Goku type shit for to deal with in any capacity*

Both are not even close to equal. Sonic is infinitely faster, stronger, and more experienced. Lilac at her best MIGHT be Hypersonic, she isn’t touching any version of Sonic who even in his weakest incarnations can react to lightning to a degree.
