Sonic X-Treme Unity (aka. Project SXU) is an amazing recreation of the cancelled Sega Saturn game Sonic X-Treme, created by SXU Team.
So as mentioned, the fan game here aims to recreate Sonic X-treme as close as possible, while adding original ideas and concepts from X-treme. Soon to be additions include brand new Act 2's for the zones, as well as remaking bosses from seen sketches, plus videos/screenshots.
In this update, 2 new stages have been added, while 2 previous stages were excluded.

If sonic Xtreme was released instead of cancelled would it have been enough for the Saturn to be successful

@@HistoryandReviews It could be debatable, if given enough time it could've been a huge hit. But with the way the game was handled and the tight schedule plus development hell propably affected major things in the game itself, like, for example if the dev team hadn't switched from engine to engine maybe we could've had a better camera angle (although I'm quite a huge fan of the original Fish-Eye Lens so whatever). Sonic 1 kind of kickstarted the Genesis, so I don't see why Sonic X-treme couldn't do the same with the Saturn if it were developed right. Heck, you could say Sonic CD saved the Sega CD since it was one of the most bought games on that system and it is a pretty darn good game despite the fact the pacing is much more different than the usual 2D formula so don't give me the "but it's so drastically different than any other Sonc title" or "it's worse than the originals" or whatever. (I edited this last part in because I'm sick of people like that)

The fisheye perspective makes it look like your playing Sonic on drugs.

Loving it!!! Just a small suggestion, the jump sounds are really weird alternating between the Genesis and CD sfx, i think it would be better to use the Sonic R double jump sounds

Sure hope we'll be able to play as Tiara Boobowski, the character who was supposed to debut in the original SX and never did even later.

she ended scrapped since ross harris (the creator of sonic model and rings, enemies,etc) never maked a model of she and was remplaced by amy also according with entendo (the remake creator) does not make another characters so sonic is only playable

The concept at the time probably would have been neat and cool, but the whole thing just looks so tough to play. Sonic is supposed be about speed, but this game looses its fluidity due to the head on view at all times/no adjustable camera, noticeable especially when you are moving back towards the camera (you pretty much are moving blindly at that point) but this is still pretty neat. I honestly wouldn’t mind playing it
