Silent Queue Absolutely could’ve ruined the dynamic by trying to either play too subdued or overwhelm the songs. “Bull in the Heather” should be taught to drummers as a lesson on accentuating a song without drowning it in needless noise.
whoa whoa whoa Bob Bert was perfect "for their music" also. Confusion is Sex to Bad Moon Rising BB was perfect. I guessing you are meaning the rock and rolly Sonic Youth
Its kinda funny looking at them and seeing a band that has grown up into there 30s yet still has kept the same hair style and still wears the clothes they wore in 91. Its perfect

They were in their late 40s to early 50s here, kiddo.
He's my number one drummer of all time, he plays like Ringo Starr - for the music, he's innovative and keeps it simple when needed. Just he can fucking rock.
It's not that Thurston Moore still looks like a teenager, it's when he plays this song his cells return to the point when he was most filled with Angst. In his case he transforms into a 17 year old.
@@opaljk4835 when main stream rock chanles talk about the 90's bands they never talk about them as much as nirvana , pearl jam and so on, i grew up on college raido in the 70's and 80's so i love them and alot of the older groups never get the respect outside the true music lovers in any style of music same thing with rap, alt rock, and pop too. maybe because of lack of play on mtv back in the day
@@automatiste5017 Sonic Youth were a joke before Steve Shelley joined, they suddenly they made brilliant LPs and were the best rock band of the '80s....weird shit happens, I guess
Jason Schulman I don’t know about that - confusion is sex and bad moon rising are two fuckn great albums. I didn’t care much for them for a long time, but I’ve recently discovered them and they are great. I will agree that they aren’t as good as sister or daydream nation (and the drumming leaves much to be desired) but you should really take another listen. They’re good stuff
@@jaschul you do not know that. Confusion is Sex to Bad Moon Rising with Bob Bert allowed them to do Evol sister and so on and so on. Every day 1 knows that. Bob Bert was in Pussy Galore and look at that line up plus his project Bewitched.. SMH.
When I was a kid I used to laugh at people in their 40s who were "still stuck in the 60s". Well, good luck ever getting me out of the 90s. EVERYTHING was better and I ain't leaving!!!
Despite of my age, 46, i'm still whit all my rage (Smashing Pumpking citation), listening the eternal youths of rock! They never bored me.. last time i sow them, was in the beautiful Roman Teatre in Ostia Antica, near Rome. They played the full Daydream Nation album. Wonderful evening..... ❤
Steve Shelly is criminally underrated. He’s a very unique drummer who is always solid and on point. Plays to the song. He really is a percussionist. Did things like using a maraca and hitting the snare drum with it. He’s basically to drums what Thurston and Lee are to guitar.
Before or after they added Die Kreuzen to that tour? the best bands in America working the underground together on the same amazing bill. We had it too good sometimes, back in the day.
This song changed my life as a young female guitar player and bassist, Kim Gordon was a big influence . That bass isn’t called an SG bass (even though that’s the style) a friend of mine plays one and quickly corrected me with the correct name of it
Thurston's guitar is too low in the mix, Lee's is too loud. Lee's tone is great though, so it doesn't sound bad. It just obscures Thurston's main riff.
Why don't Thurston Moore, Robert Plant, or Robert Smith ever lose their hair like ordinary mortals??? Can you imagine Robert Smith sporting a big bald spot or Thurston Moore rocking a Larry King receding hairline? Just one of the great mysteries of the universe.
