@@rxbinweh19 Yeah, I just love watching them though. SF's poise and fluid style combined with a character like Kenshi is great watching. I'm undeniably a scrub here for the spectacle rather than optimization, and SF makes the fights look so goooood. That said, if you can link to better Kenshis I'd be in your debt. Care to share? ;)
@@rxbinweh19I don’t think you’ve watched his kenshi videos. He practically showed the community what they do with kenshi now and he dropped . This is more like a PFA yice mode if you watch his kenshi vids
Yeah He couldn't rely on Sento to do the trick sadly. On high levels there is so many ways of nullifying Sento and play a strong keep-away game. He had to pick something much more reliable for the matchup where every frame counts. Kenshi is AMAZING for online play and pumping irons online. Offline tho? Where you can make every frame count on a instant button register? Not so much. I think he did an amazing choice picking Rain over Kenshi there.
that smoke player is proof that scrubby randomness can stump even the best players (even though sonic won) so don’t feel bad when you lose to random guy spamming specials boys (totally not copium)
Im hoping someone better than me can explain this. I main Kenshi but I’m only grand master rank so I won’t claim to be an expert. Off of a frost or subzero freeze I can consistently hit a combo that depending on the combo starter leading into the freeze does between 45-50% dmg. This combo also ends with team work, so the opposing player will always have to wake up in the middle of the Sento/Kenshi sandwich. Why does sonic consistently do the combo that has Kenshi maneuver into that Sento Sandwich position when it only does 38% dmg? I could understand not going for the dmg if it didn’t get you into the Sento sandwich position but using teamwork as a combo ender does the trick. And it’s not like the optimal combo is that hard to time considering I can hit it very consistently. Is it just that Sonic hasn’t bothered to learn that optimal combo or is there some higher level reason he chooses to do it his way that I don’t understand? I also saw several of the Kenshi players at ECT doing this same weird combo Sonic has been doing so that also adds to my confusion. Edit- The combo in question is first shown at 0:09 but appears plenty more times throughout the video
I've been wondering this too cause they used to do optimal combos in the first week but stopped. I don't play Kenshi but my guess is that it's because they keep sento out longer vs going for more damage and losing him at a bad spot.
My guess is what the other guy said the animation it takes for team work to finish & Setno to appear and mix your opponent drains more kameo meter. I think Sonic wants to deal less damage and take less time on the Kameo meter so they can open up the opponent with a mix up and have time to finish the combo with Sento and mix again or end the round with a high damage combo
@@hoodwiniyes that is correct. If you do the combo ender, sento will be 2/3 drained, so he will have 1/3 left, meaning you will have 1 more mixup left and if you just do the kicks sento will have 2/3 meter, so you will have the opportunity to do the mixup 2 times instead of 1.
I feel like fox put kenshi up on purpose because he knew it's damn near unfair for him to be playing with him. Then he go master rain and win the tournament
You can tell that smoke never played someone at that level I felt bad because had he been use to that situation of good defense he probably would of slowed down and won , I was rooting for him.
@narisdeuce First let me say it was a light hearted joke. But it's about pride. You spend so much time getting good as a character and Sonic destroys you with them and makes it look easy. Maybe even doing combos you can't do consistently. Feelsbadman
@@narisdeuce And we love that for you! But not everyone has that mentality. FGC in general is a competitive mindset. But at a high level I'm sure people who compete on Sonic's level aren't that hype about it lol
damn that smoke was hot ass lol both rounds could’ve maximized on unbreakable combos to take the entire remaining health bar away without a breaker happening, ggs to sonic tho he def been doing his thing fs raw to the bone 🔥🔥
3:48 ive had this happen to me and it feels so dirty. NRS needs to nerf the time his grandpa is out and its also kinda bs that it can attack while Kenshi is blocking and being attacked.
i think Kenshi is just a noob stomper character, but not good at high level fight. That's why you dont see him in grand final tournament and Sonic decides not to go with him
@@xuanminhnguyen4533 Kenshi vs JC & Baraka? Yeah, proplayers are out to win and SF has always looked for the cheapest characters to main in NRS titles. Smoke is a noob stomper character, Kenshi doesn't fit that role.
Lol he's been using rain non stop still. And still dominating. He's just going back to kemshi cause that was his 1st best character when the game launched
