Thanks! Built-in keyboard does not have velocity, but internal engine does. So yes, you can use external keyboards to play with velocity.

It's more "if all you care about is a cool synth, get this". If you want a synth + sampler + tool to compose a whole arrangement (tape), get the OP-1. The OP-1 ticks more boxes and can be used standalone to compose and record a whole track. The ELZ-1 is "only" an instrument, but what it does, it does more deeply than the OP-1. And for a fraction of the price too. To be honest, apart from the design (if you squint really hard), I have no idea why the video description compares them. It's like comparing an MPC with a drum machine.

@@maticherzog you can use USB to send notes/cc/etc, or connect suitable MIDI interface directly to ELZ-1 and then use standard MIDI cables to connect external gear. You can find the list of supportable MIDI interfaces at Sonicware cite.
