1st time Sonoma, rented M4 GTS. 80 degree day. Exclusivetrackdays.org. Made the mistake of keeping the car in MDM mode, which is BMW's more permissive traction control setting.. but still highly limiting, cuts power everywhere.
for your 1st time out that is some great driving, some points, if you can , a bit more speed on the straight before turn 1 and carry more speed up the hill before 2, it is a steep hill so you can tap the brakes , and slow easily before 2,you can carry more speed, just need to brake harder and later, try sending this video in to a coach familiar with Sonoma they can give you more detailed istructions, i can but hesitate to , i have been around sonoma 400 times in my 991.1s and my times are 157. it is hard to gain just 1 sec, but more speed around corners and straights and when to brake is the key
thank you VERY much for taking time to give me pointers, i appreciate it. we couldn't have coaches in the car due to covid so i think if i could have been able to sit as passenger durinig a coaching session or drive with a coach i could have felt where i could carry more speed. i was surprised looking at the data how much i was lettiing off the gas in spots. looking forward to going back
