Sonoma Raceway, formally known as Sears Point Raceway and Infineon Raceway is one of the most historic circuits in North America. It's layout follows the natural flow of the terrain, making for one of the most dynamic tracks in the country. With constant elevation changes, blind entry points and a wide variety of turn configurations, Sonoma Raceway is one of the most fulfilling tracks around.
During the press introduction for the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400, Senior Editor Nic de Sena had the opportunity to spend a full day at Sonoma Raceway, twisting the throttle of Kawasaki's latest lightweight sport bike.
Sonoma Raceways is a 2.52 mile circuit, but due to its extremely engaging layout, bikes of all weights and sizes will be able to have loads of fun there.
If you're visiting this brilliant track any time soon, join Nic as he pilots the Ninja 400 around for a lap at Sonoma. This will help you become familiar with the layout of the circuit, even before setting down your first bits of rubber on the tarmac.

Rider is experienced. 400 ninja is a nimble bike. My stock ‘17 ninja 650 had me on edge my first time track riding at Sonoma. Nice video!

Is this the Club Racer version with the GP 25mm cartridge kit? I love riding big, fast bikes but I am an older dad and I want to keep my license so a Ninja 400 with GP cartridges, Ohlins shock and Galpher rotors will be my next and maybe last bike. Thanks for the purist video.

Hey Chris, This is the stock Ninja 400 that we rode during the press launch earlier this year. Everything we rode that day was 100% as you'd get the bike from the factory, even the Dunlop GPR 300 tires. I believe you're talking about the Ninja 400R's that Jeremy Toye has been putting together, which can be found at Ninja400R.com. I'd love to get some time on one of those! Picking up a Ninja 400 and doing a bit of work to it seems like a great idea, depending on where you'll be riding. On a track like Sonoma, and when the canyons aren't too far away, something like the Ninja 400 is an awesome option. Take care! - Nic

It sunds pretty good for at stock parallel twin :-) But at least here in Denmark it cost 73000 Dkr and a Z650 cost 80000 Dkr. i know where my money would go. but the again i own amongst others an ER-6N already.

Hey Listepikster, That's a shame to hear about the pricing, but it certainly does impact the choice of bikes given that they're so close in price. The Ninja 650/ER-6N are great machines and the Ninja 400 shares many commonalities with it. The intake howl you hear gives a nice visceral tough to this lightweight sport bike and that's something that I think many riders will appreciate.
