He's one drummer that just continues to evolve and get better. I remember when he was going through his funk phase. When he was studying, Clyde Stubblefield and all the other greats. 👊👊👊

There's no guessing with Steve. He knows exactly where he's going next in his solos. Everything is choreographed through years of practice and the fluidity is just beautiful to watch.

I am proud to own a Sonor Delite in Birds Eye Amber. It just sounds fantastic. As a drummer, I often had the choice of playing on a high-end DW that was already on stage. The organizer, our manager and the sound engineer naturally wanted the shortest possible break between the bands. I did it twice. I then said I would only do it with my Sonor and the DW was removed from the stage.

Steve is just so tasty. Was always curious though as to why he played matched in the 70s and early 80s and then on Journey’s frontiers he switched to traditional grip?
