Sonor Factory Tour (Part 1) 29 July 2011 

Been there last year. The people of Sonor were so hospitable. We did a factory tour. An amazing combination of machinery and craftsmanship. And ate delicious potato and goulash soup !!!

I was just there for the Prolite Experience 2012. I was lucky enough to also get classes with Benny Greb there. It was the perfect event.

Watching the drive through Germany just reminds me of how much I miss being there...

no, they just finished pressing it and it didnt have a bearing edge on it yet.. if it is custom they can do different types of bearing edges for different sounds

I wish I could work in the Sonor Factory .. :D

On sonor's website, you can go to there faqs and under the general in the FAQ section, the top faq is how to visit the factory by contacting the company, youtube will not let me post a link, grr. The first FAQ is details of how to setup a day to go and mosey about the factory, went while I was abroad for school, awesome place to check out, very cool people.

How can you arrange a tour? I live in Bamberg and dont mind the drive.

I take it.. this is one of the last factories left in Germany? Aren't all the rest in Taiwan now?

I tried a sonor with stock heads and I think it sounded better then a DW at guitarcenter... lol I never knew sonor is german otherwise I would of got them!

The whole factory shuts down for three weeks for summer vacation. Why don't American businesses do that?

Next time bring a proper recorder so you can capture the sound as well, and you don't have to drown the whole video in elevator-jazz.
