The drums are musical instruments but can't be compared to the guitar or the bass.

+Gabs lefloch I agree, they do sound incredible. However, at > $5k for a 5-piece shell pack, no snare... (Who the hell could afford that?) Starclassics and Saturn Vs start to sound a little bit better. ;)

agreed. So do the toms and the kick, all in all a very well balanced sound. not entirely pleased with the sound of the cymbals though, preffer the sound of Meinl byzance

Not sure if it's the drums or the recording. This is the best drum sound I've come across.

True. Here's the thing. These high end drum sets are truly incredible. There is a reason guys like Gavin play the kits they play. It's not just endorsement money, it's also quality. But that's not going to make you a better drummer. If you can play, it will make your drums sound better, but you are always going to sound as good as you actually are, or worse if you're playing a real crap drum set. Never better than you actually are.

That award is already given away to Vinnie. Gavin would agree.

i have a set of Force 3007s, maple, and they sound fantastic. although made in china the construction and materials are clearly according to sonor standards. and i can't believe how little i paid for them.

edward kriege I have a force 2003 and truly; it sounds superb even for a borderline intermediate/entry level kit. I read somewhere one of the brothers who founded the company oversees quality in china so even the kits made there are upto standard. And boy, such a high standard it is

Great articulation of Gavin's artistry. He is in my opinion (small and humble) one of the best drummers alive today. His touch, and sensitivity to the needs of the music is obvious. Some drummers try to improve a song with their drumming and inevitably detract from the whole of the sound. I feel that Gavin uses the little nuances of the song and exploits them without being overbearing.....awesome drummer. And great comment sir, your a man a quality taste!
