From DW to Sonor that's something that I never saw it before. Anyway great choice Aaron !!! Now there's another drummer who I will enjoy hear and watch on this drum company (I love the sound of Jojo Mayer, Benny Greb and Chris Coleman).

LOL.. for NON-ARTIST regular players.. that's the ONLY way it goes. There are very very few Sonor owners who are just dying to go to DW. There are MANY DW players that switch all the time to Sonor. I've notice this for years on the drum forums,.

In fact it doesn't matter at all what manufacturer you like. They're all great and it's just a matter of taste ...or money . Talented artists like Aaron could play cheap scrap and still sound fantastic. I'm waiting for a great record . I don't mind the bloody gear !

Absolutely huge. He is a great drummer playing the best sounding kits on the planet. A move in the right direction for Sonor for sure. I'm actually shocked there aren't more artists making the switch over the last couple years.

DW is a lot like Apple. Overpriced, but masters at marketing. I own a DW and tuning is a bitch. And the tuning range is extremely limited.

I bought into the DW hype about 10 years ago, when they were at their peak in terms of popularity. Three years ago I sold them and got a used Delite kit and have never looked back lol. Ever since I have switched I have never even thought about other drums

I just love his style of playing and he's such a great personality. I only wish he would take care of his weight. I just hate the feeling knowing that my heroes are in health danger. Wish I lived near him to take him to the gym daily to work out. C'mon man..you can do this.....Other drummers done it too.

Bro I’m 2 years late but it’s still true. Just imagine if he just weight. He’d REALLY be blazing!! I mean he already killing but still. Look at Eric Moore he lost so much weight and became like 10x better which seemed crazy.

I bought 2 DW Collectors kits became of this monster, Aaron Spears! I always wondered wtf he said he loved them so much. They are beautiful, but the two I owned never sounded incredible like my Yamaha Maple Customs or Tama MIJ Starclassics. I thought it just must be me-I must really suck. How great it is to find you people that corroborate my contention that DW are a little hyped. For me nothing sounds as good as Yamaha or Tama, but dammit, I’ve gotta try. Sonor, here I come!

I wish artist had the freedom to discuss why they left a company. It would be very interesting to know why Aaron left DW. The DW artist stay with that company for a long time. I shocked when Peter Erskin (I hope I spelled his name right) left DW to go to TAMA.

Peter alluded to it somewhat as the company not really taking artists input as seriously as he was led to believe. He wanted a specific type of hardware that they were unwilling to make for him, so he went to a company who would.

I would love to know the REAL reasons these players switch brands. That would actually be interesting. Like "one of the DW representatives fooled around with my girlfriend, so f**k those people!", or "Sonor just started throwing a lot of money my way so how could I say no?"

This is exciting.. still haven’t tracked a better kit than our dw collectors.. lol but I’ve seen and heard some killer sounding sonor drums.. very musical! Might track better for more indie stuff, being more organic 👍🏼 still wanna compare them to the dw jazz series tho.. 😂

The thing that gets me is that he fits those lifeless black heads that kill all tone and sound rubbery. Eric Moore does it to his dw kit too, it's like they're playing top shelf drums just for the prestige and because they look cool...

I've been a Sonor head since I was a kid. They were always my favorite drums. I love my Force Series kit. It's a brick house and has lasted through many shows. I'm glad to see Sonor stepping up their marketing game!
