My Sonos Beam Gen 2 does not turn off when the TV is off. Does it still use power?

I bought a Beam Gen 2 and can't tell a difference between it and the old Vizio sound bar I had. I plugged it in expecting amazing sound, and to my ear it just sounds the same. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not.

How do you plug the damn thing in to your TV if you don't have ARC? Adapter doesn't work because it is a square peg in a round hole.

Any idea how to solve the lip sync issue which is now slightly out after changing to Dolby. I have tried adjusting on Sky settings but still no joy. Also I have connected the HDMI into the arc slot but not getting Dolby atmos? Do you need to have the e arc to get Dolby atmos? Cheers

yes you need eArc enabled TV for Atmos

I ended up buying a HD Fury which resolves the no eArc in the tv and now gives me Atmos sound

Mine just arrived 2 days ago. Only problem I'm having is that I'm now in the ecosystem... already ordered a One SL and and know that another SL and Sub will be ordered somewhere down the line. Sonos wants us to be poor! Loved the unboxing experience and you represented it well here.

You need two one sl's to use them as rear channels , one won't work.

@@enjoyeverymomentvideos2687 Yep, hence why I mentioned I will be ordering another SL. It also means I have to look at purchasing stands as well, since I don't want to drill holes into the wall. Sonos is a slippery slope!
