On the legal aspect, the widow does not automatically become the owner of her late husband's property. If the property was self acquired by the late husband then his widow and his children get equal shares in the property if he has not made a Will otherwise. On the other hand if the property is an ancestral property then the widow and children have undivided rights on the property. Not true, first right goes to the widow all of her husband's property, then she can choose her child or children to distribute or nominate. Children have no right unless they are named in the will.
