We couldn't spoil this - arguably this episode was SAMCROs finest hour. And there were little hints dropped during the season and even in the episode with the choice of song "Hey, Hey" and the lyric "More to the picture than meets the eye" right as they are arrested and threatening Jax.
Trivia for you...Lenny the Pimp is actually Sonny Barger aka one of the founding original members of the Hells Angels. He pops up a couple of times in the future too. Definitely one of the top most satisfying episodes in tv history.
Kurt Sutter wrote, produced, and directed the series, as well as played incarcerated club member Otto Delaney. also Sutter's wife, actress Katey Sagal, who plays Gemma
Hunter S. Thompson called Sonny "The Maximum leader of the Hells Angels." He was actually a founding member of the Oakland chapter. Other chapters already existed, but Sonny was instrumental in uniting them and actually incorporating the club, which positioned him as the preeminent member, and eventually unofficial president of the international Hells Angels. Check out Hunter's book. He actually lived and rode with them in order to get a true inside look. He was almost killed in the process.
Stahl going out scared and begging fit perfect for her. Also on Jax's end, he managed to prove his loyalty to the club with his plan and clear Gemma. But season 4 will definitely be very interesting.
The pinnacle of it that most people miss is that they grab Jax's "written statement" and tear it up after the kills too. They got EVERYTHING they wanted and gave up nothing in the end there.
The ending of the letters being read and the irony between son and father was so dam good, even how they sat Jax across from everyone was also symbolic! Such a great show. Also, one of the most satisfying deaths in TV history.
This could be the best finale to any show ever, the twist at the end completely surprised us when it first came out, no one understood what just happened.
"This is what she felt." F***ing SAVAGE!!! It's been years since I've seen this episode and I've NEVER forgotten that scene. I've been WAITING for yall to get to this episode. One of the best episodes of TV ever imo. I love this show. This season was phenomenal. They built everything up so great to make it seem like Jax was doing everything w/o their knowledge and when Stahl betrayed Jax at the yard, I still remember feeling breathless, I was so mad and upset. And in the end...(chef's kiss)...BEAUTIFUL! Can't wait to season 4
Something I haven't seen anyone say about the Chibbs killing Jimmy part, the most satisfying part of that for me, is the fact those scars on Chibbs face are from Jimmy O, so in his dying moments, he had done to him what he had done to Chibbs, so poetic.
This finale is a example of the proper way to subvert expectations. You don't make your lead turn genocidal in 2 episodes ala GOT !!! Kurt Sutter could and should give a master class on writing !!!
The ending was such a simple yet effective twist, it feels like the characters are also laughing at the audience for tricking us. It left a few loose ends to continue the series yet wrapped up the majority of the stories in a satisfying way.
The actor who plays Chibbs has a real Glasgow smile from back in his younger days, pretty cool how they used his scars for the characters storyline and his character got his revenge the same way Jimmy physically scarred him.
The fact that Stahl tried for mercy with Opie confirmed that she would never change her methods. Even after Opie granted her mercy the first time. That’s all the confirmation Opie needed. This was the episode that convinced me of how good this show is/was.
Yeah it confirmed to him that she was still the same rotten person. Even though Jax turning was planned, she didn't know that and she exposed him in front of the whole club which would've signed his death warrant had the situation been real and then she gloated about it. That's what sealed the deal for Opie. He had mercy once. Not anymore.
The Shield. The Shield. The Shield. Sadly it won't get a lot of votes for your attention because the show was aired way before there were RU-vid reactions. But anyone reading this, if you love Sons of Anarchy, you will love the Shield. It was a Kurt Sutter show before SOA and so many actors were shared between both shows. Exciting, violent, smart, and characters and storylines that pull you in and won't let go. When the show originally aired it got fantastic reviews from critics because it was so engrossing. Just the first episode will tell you if you'll like the show or not..
The reaction I've been waiting for (along with everybody else). That big "fight" between Jax and the club, when it first aired I swear I didn't breathe ONCE. And of course the two most satisfying deaths of the whole show. OMG. Thanks for the reaction!
I started crying the first time I watched that episode and Clay said 'you're dead!' And then it ended like that I was laughing through tears. Nobody deserved that kill more than Stahl and nobody deserved that revenge more than Ope. Amazing.
@@catrinag.9262 OMG I cried too! (actually, watching this again and I'm still getting emotional..even though I know what was gonna happen. LOL!) Don't forget Chibs's revenge on Jimmy O. That was second best, after Ope. So good!
I’ve seen this finale multiple times, however I was still stressed watching you guys react to this finale. It is one of the best season finales I have ever seen.
I remember watching this finale years ago. I was absolutely 💯 ecstatic! The Stahl/Jimmy double cross was poetic. Opie and Chibs getting their absolution was so satisfying. 🔥 love the reactions guys. Keep up the great work. Enjoy the ride, it's gonna get even more wild!
Best part is the Jamison juice box chibs is drinking on the buss ride to kill jimmy also if you can find them between this season and next there where a few 5 minute shorts that help you understand some of the things going on at start of next season
Steven: "That's like one of the most satisfying kills, we've ever seen." Me:. OHHHH BUDDY! JUST YOU WAIT! (Maniacal Laughter) Give it...One Minute! 😂😂😂
Been waiting too long for this ep reaction! My favorite part of the whole series. Jax played Stahl like a fiddle all season, and Opie killing Stahl is one of my favorite kills in all of TV. Donna can finally rest.
Opie showed Stahl mercy the first time, told her to remember it next time she was going to risk others lives. This 2nd time around he had no doubt that she deserved death. The Sons are incredibly far from righteousness though, don't get me wrong but, figured I'd mention that aspect of it.
The absolute best finale you could ask for. I'm glad you finally got to this point. When Chibs got Jimmy as he did, man was that emotional. And then top it off w Opies Revenge... blissful anarchy
When I first saw this I thought this was it for Jax being outted as a rat turns out the whole club was in on it. Stahl though she was playing chess and outsmarted them but Samcro was playing an entirely different game against her so season 3 comes to a close leaving a lot of possibilities for season 4. Finale ended on a somewhat hopeful tone despite most of the club going to jail. Chibs finally got revenge on Jimmy for both the club and for himself after all the pain Jimmy caused him giving him his scars and stealing his wife and daughter from him. Opie got revenge for Donna finally killing Stahl the same way its interesting Opie is one of the most emotional club members but he was stone cold sitting behind Stahl like the Terminator before he pulled the trigger. The only thing is Tara reading John’s letters that make it clear his death wasn’t an accident and that Gemma and Clay were behind it. And they introduce another first 9. Lenny’s actor is a former Hell’s Angel. And its fitting the character he plays one of the founding members that went to jail for murder when John was prez. An old time club member that saw it all and did it all. Onto season 4!
Not sure if you guys picked up on it but after opie kill stall he took jax's statement that detailed everything about the irish kings and ripped it up and took it with them so the irish will never know he ratted them out
this was the episode i was introduced to soa with i saw some of it in my uncles i went home and started it and was finished watching it all in 2 weeks i was hooked
Well, in season four and then you will have a good action, in my humble opinion these are the best seasons, JAX from season to season will become a ruthless murderer, I hope you like it. In general, after bad episodes in Belfast, season 4 changes 180 degrees and you go to get involved in it because it is really good
I'm trying to remember between seasons 3 and 4 there were maybe half a dozen clips FX had shot of the club in prison and those events were plot points for maybe the first 3 episodes. Jax had it ROUGH during his stretch.
34:53 now that I expected to see when y’all found out that Clay & Gemma were the reason for JT’s death. And since y’all have already seen season 4 I can’t wait to see the reaction to the season 4 2-part finale
Please forgive me if someone already told you, but what Chibs did to Jimmy's face is called the "Glasgow Smile". That is the scar that the actor that plays Chibs, Tommy Flanagan, has one. It is real, not makeup. He got it in an altercation in the ghetto of Belfast. And of course that is what the Joker has in "The Dark Knight". I just found out that "chibs" is Scottish slang for "blade" (edit: "chibs actually means "stab" or "slash" and not the name of the instrument that was used in the stabbing).
Scottish woman here! “Chibs” isn’t technically slang for blade. It means to stab or slash. Like if you said “he got chibbed” it would mean “he got attacked with a knife” usually “stabbed” The thing with Scottish slang is that it means different things depending on which part of Scotland you’re from but generally chibbed means stabbed.
Best, most satisfying episode of the entire series for me. This episode never gets old. "This is what she felt." Gives me chills every time. Always wish I can watch it for the first time again.
Before I hit play….. I cannot convey into words properly HOW LONG IVE BEEN WAITING AND ANTICIPATING this specific episode reaction. I bet Nikki and Steven go ape$hit
This was one of the best Finale,s Ive ever seen, I couldn't wait till you got to this one and to see your reaction, I wasn't disappointed..Two perfect satisfying deaths for Opie and Chibbs ...and the look on Jaxs face in the van was perfect..
So satisfying waiting for you guys to get to this episode, so damn good. Plus, not sure if you guys caught this but while riding in the school bus Chibbs has a Jameson whiskey juice box!! The small details in this show, can be so satisfying!!
Such an amazing finale. I’m sure you two saw the comments about how the finale for Season 3 was amazing, and everyone couldn’t wait for you two to watch it. Even knowing that it’s great still doesn’t do it justice because the way Jax and the club get revenge is so satisfying that you almost couldn’t see it coming. What an amazing show and finale!! You’ve still got a lot left to watch and see though!! Cheers!!! 🍻
