Have you ever seen interviews with Charlie? He describes how they shot that intense scene...to perfection according to the white as a ghost director? They forgot to roll cameras and had to do it all over again!
Apparently there's another take they did where they said Charlie did even better than that. They said is bizarrely real. But the lighting wasn't right so they had to reshoot and the result of that is what made the final cut
31:50 A nice little bit of acting that goes unnoticed by many: when Nero sits on the curb, he scratches his arm a few times. He does that because he's a former drug addict and for addicts, their cravings really kick in during periods of extreme emotional distress. I'm not even sure it was in the script to do that, Jimmy Smits is just an incredible actor.
@@IncognitoJohnDoe Run where? The club has hooks in anywhere Nero could run off to and still be able to make a living and killing Jax ensures that his own death would be as painful as possible. Gemma is making her goodbye run because she knows there's no where to hide.
@@anthonycampos8057 Nah. Piney was exactly what he was. His best friend's dad. Look at how Jax would talk to Piney in comparison to Nero. Jax loved Piney, but he and Nero's dynamic was more father and son like than Piney, Clay, or even JT for that matter.
@@anthonycampos8057 Before Tara died, yes. After Gemma murdered her, Jax wasn't listening to anyone. He was hell-bent on revenge. However, he showed more respect towards Nero than any other "father" figure in his life. Yes, they fought like a father and grown son would, but Jax never verbally disrespected him as he did with Clay and Piney.
Gemma thinking she’s a good mom is wild. And after everything that’s happened, that she’s witnessed & done, being a part of this lifestyle, she goes to her grandson, a child, gives him those club rings and STILL wants him to go down the outlaw road. She’s beyond pathetic.
The scariest part is that people like Gemma with that kind of delusion exist in real life. They will literally do anything to lie and make themselves not be accountable.
Charlie had to shoot the scene with Juice 2x, because they had a problem with the cameras lol, can u believe it? It was a blast watch u guys go through this journey. Love this show!
fun fact about the juice and jax scene is they did it in 1 take and thought charlie hunnam was incredible and the scene was perfect. Then the camera guy came out and said "there was no film" so they had to do it 1 more time.
Everyone who died this season is the faults of Gemma, Juice and Jax. Gemma for murdering Tara. Juice for helping Gemma cover up the murder by blaming Lin. Jax for going on a rampage on Gemma’s unreliable word. Gemma should have waited to know everything before confronting Tara. If Juice wanted to redeem himself, he would have told Jax the truth the night Tara died. All he did was further dig his own grave. Jax should have questioned why Lin would murder Tara and he should have known something was up. He killed Jury and lied about him confessing to informing Lin about the guns.
100% Gemma dude. Without Gemma, Juice wouldn't have done shit and Jax wouldn't have gone off the rails fighting the Chinese for no reason turning his life upside down. I see it like Jax is super smart and he does his best with the info he is given but throughout all of his life all his info was falsely given by Gemma so he's always creating problems instead of fixing them eventhough he's actually doing good with the info he has.
We dont Get to Think and wait when we in a adrenaline rush, when i say "we" its the normal people, now imagine a psycho in a adrenaline rush... She Just act in the worst way imaginable.
@@dahlizz99 Juice still came up with the story to blame Lin and killed Roosevelt. Gemma would’ve been found out and locked up immediately if Juice hadn’t helped her
How could she do this to Tara will always break me 😭😭 What a scene!! Such a great episode and an even better reaction. Also barowski must’ve been on a list that you never mentioned because he wasn’t on a list that you said. It was all Nero or a member of the club 😂
Charlie was so amazing in this episode!! His face when he was talking to Juice makes me cry everytime I see it. Plus his scene with Nero breaks my heart as well
During Jax’s conversation with Nero, Jax wasn’t a biker, a thug, or a gangster…he was a heartbroken son trying to wrap his mind around his mom doing something so horrendous, so damaging. Charlie’s acting in this scene & the one with juice is phenomenal. Gemma is despicable to me. I’ve watched this series so many times and that thought has never changed. What her & juice caused, you can’t come back from that, period. She murdered the mother of her grandsons and then says she loves them & would never do anything to hurt them.. strongly disagree with that; that’s the opposite of love & the ultimate hurt. Don’t care what her reasoning was.
Whats crazy is gemma covered it up for the longest time, even arranged tara's funeral too. And juice covered it up too but the moment he realized Abel was affected in the worst way possible he came clean. Juice had his screwups but for what its worth i respect him for that much
Now y'all got me tearing up at work😢😫Poor Jax. Poor Nero. I'm begging for the truth to get out for the whole series, and when it finally does, it's impact is so heavy. Great reaction! 2 more episodes!!
I wish Nero showed up for Jax earlier. He would have turned into a better man. I believe he'd also be alive by shows end. BUT...where's the drama in that?
The weird thing is, it really was Thomas who scratched Abel above the eye. That was really an accident, but when the teacher asks Abel about it and she says if it was a grownup then they could be in a LOT of trouble his little mind automatically went to getting grandma in a LOT of trouble with a BIGGER scratch and saying it was her.
Nero's reaction to finding out is absolutely heart-rending. Everything clicking into place, his trust evaporating, his heart breaking, for himself and for Jax. Jimmy Smits played it to perfection. Also when nero is talking to Jax about not killing Gemma, because it's "a wound to deep to heal" Jax knows that it doesn't matter...he knows he's going to lose the mayhem vote, so he's going to die and the end of it no matter what.
This is infuriating that, although Gemma is basically the main villain of this season, they still try to make us feel empathy for her, just cuz the actress is the realisator's wife. Seriously, who thought "oh no, I hope she's not gonna get caught!"? Nobody obviously, but this is almost as if they wanted us to think that.
Because of the acting, the truth coming out, the emotion, makes this my favorite episode of the series. Charlie and Theo both killed that scene (not even the best take?!! Wish that film existed!) and Jimmy Smits’ facial expressions said everything and you felt that desperation and pain he portrayed. “Gemma knows every truth, behind every lie, inside every secret. She’s the Gatekeeper.”
There is a page that lists the characters with the highest body counts. Gemma tops the list when you add up the deaths she is directly and indirectly responsible for.
Steven: "Gemma needs to - end" Instantly in my brain: "Gemma gonna Gemma no more - soon!"😂 Btw, the absolute loyalty Gemma managed to manipulate out of people was off the charts. (Unfortunately, I've known a couple of people in my life just about as 'talented' in that regard as her character)
Charlie's acting in this episode is phenomenal especially with the face to face with Juice. Gemma really has been the reason why so many people have died and why the Club has always gotten into so much conflict. Also I hope that you guys react to The Myans MC show. The first 2 Seasons are amazing the rest are meh imo.
Of all the evil sh*t Gemma has done, giving able that ring and telling him “this is for when you become a member” putting that in his head at that age… he will grow up follow up on that and he will know and be cursed to this life of chaos, which makes her giving him that ring and putting that into his head the most sinister thing she’s done in my opinion.
it has been so hard not to drop hints or spoilers, but ya.. im loving following this reaction series..I have loved these 2 since TWD reactions and have become one of my favorite reaction and Sons has been my favorate show since it was airing on cable and wait for each new episode was hell..lol now i have to wait for the next reaction.. lol
It was brilliant how they didnt make us hear jax telling Nero hut instead went the full "show dont tell" route by just showing us neros face and show the life leave his eyes.
Such amazing performances in this episode. Jax and Juice where the truth of Tara is revealed you know what Juice has been going through in prison and him coming clean to Jax about everything he knows he’s going to die if he reveals this and despite the betrayals he tries to give Jax some sense of peace but mostly Juice was just tired and wanted to be done he joined the club for brotherhood and what did him in was he didn’t trust them enough about his lineage. People overlook Nero’s reaction he still has feeling for Gemma but once he learns of what Gemma did and all that came as a result he wants nothing to do with her. Wayne was the opposite since Clay died he finally made his moves on Gemma and wanted any sort of relationship with her and when he knew what Gemma did added what Jax would do to her he was going to protect Gemma no matter what. Jax telling the club the truth and admitting he was wrong in his actions this season really shows how different he is from Gemma he accepts his role in the chaos and is straight up about it no lies no justification and he apologizes to his club for dragging them down with him. And finally the ending Jax Teller the badass of seven seasons finally breaks down to grieve his wife as Nero comforts him shows that Nero truly is the father figure Jax needed in this moment but by now it was too late.
i blame Jax as much as Gemma for Tara death .. honestly if he had leave samcro like he told her a thousands times this situation wouldn't have happen ..
Jax and tara shouldnt even be together in the first place. They're not compatible at all. She's a very intelligent doctor and successful in her field. She could date lawyers, doctors, businessman etc ... But noooo ! she chose a dangerous criminal who sells drugs and machine guns for a living, kills and torture other people and on top of that the mother is a complete lunatic psychopath ! Honestly what could possibly go wrong ? 😂😂
I can't put Jax anywhere close to Gemma when it comes to responsibility. Everything Jax did was a direct result of Gemma and Juice's lie. What else is a person in Jax's position going to do if his wife was murdered? Also can't forget they came to the decision together that Tara would leave but she decided to stay because of her competition with Gemma.
no i'm taking it way back to season 3 and 4 i don't think Tra stayed for competition but bc she couldn't go and live her life with her sons without Jax..@@NikkiStevenReact
remember what Gemma told her those things that happen usually settle fast she even told her that this life was even boring (s1 or 2).. she gave up on Jax once while still be in love with him like he was with her now kids were involved she couldn't just left him bc of all of that @@lestwins8114
"i'm sorry that the family that i was given has created so much chaos in the family i've chosen." -- jax teller that line is literally the definition of this entire series! this is my favorite episode in s7.
Yeah, that line stood out to me as well. Just incredible writing from Peter Elkoff, Mike Daniels, and Kurt Sutter. I wonder which one them was the one who came up with it? My gut tells me it was Kurt Sutter, but I don't know for sure.
To be fair to Unser, he doesn't know anything and is always in the dark lol. But, at the same time, if you're in the dark on something, it's better to not say anything. Unser constantly tells people things without knowing all the facts, which isn't his fault and is his fault at the same time.
That scene with Jax and Juice is incredible! The acting is amazing but the writing shouldn't be overlooked either! It's such a well written scene that brilliant actors brought to life! 💯
OMG you're so close to the end!!! Yes it's so 🤬too good of a show! I hope you also check out The Bear. Another AMAZING show! Or are you guys going to watch The Mayans next? 😎
Hunnam, Rossi, and Smits brought their absolute acting A-game in this episode. So many incredible scenes in just this episode alone. Most people will point to Juice’s confession as the best scene in this episode but I personally love the ending scene between Jax and Nero more.
Although the scene with Jax and Juice is amazing and tragic, the scene where Jax breaks down to Nero is just...heartbreaking bc its the closest they've been and it's also when Nero bc Jax's father role and kind of held him together temporarily.
Jimmy Smits was such a spectacular addition to this show. That moment where Nero finds out the truth.....the way his face changed while he was on the phone with Jax, and that desperate plea, just like Nikki pointed out......absolute top notch acting.
I've totally enjoyed yalls reactions throughput the show Jax and Nero scenes during the episodes so amazing should have won some kind of award for their performance
Charlie and Theo were outstanding in this scene. You could see the moment Juice decided to tell all. He knew the truth would be the end of any hope for him, but he has been there since Abel was born and he couldn't let the lie go on, knowing it was hurting him. I think this is one of the best scenes from the series. Charlie and Theo had great chemistry and even knowing it meant he was for certain a dead man, you can tell Juice is actually relieved the truth is out, because they was a heavy lie to carry. Poor Chucky. He really did love Gemma. Juice line about Gemma is the best! It sums up the entire show really. Her and Clay's actions when Jax was just a child set so much of the shit that happened into motion. She is indeed the gatekeeper. Nero was the best thing that could have ever happened to Gemma, he was a man who could have given her a happy life, but she was the worst thing that ever happened to him. I cried so hard the first time I watched this episode. You can just feel Nero's heartbreaking and all the dreams he had for their future shatter. And God, Jax breaking down and crying with Nero is just too much.
0:23 I personally had anxiety at the ending of the show. I had come to love it and the story so much, I couldn't stand to let it go. These last few episodes remain tainted in my memory by the bitterness of knowing I was watching it all end.
It’s scenarios like these that make me miss Opie even more, I would’ve KILLED to see Opie comforting Jax or calming him, but Nero being there was a great alternative 😭
One thing to remember, assuming you're not aware already, is that Unser is and always has been in love with Gemma. She won't give him the time of day but he'd never intentionally roll over on her. Even if he did put all the pieces together after talking to Juice he'd never say anything to the Department.
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Charlie Hunnam revealed the scene with Juice was one take and the first time they recorded it both actors felt like they were the characters in real time. Peter Weller (Baroskys actor who directed this episode) said that it was one of the best things he seen acted out and said they weren’t shooting another take. Unfortunately the camera had a malfunction so they had to shoot the ENTIRE scene again, and everyone on set admitted it wasn’t as good as the first take. So there is a version of that scene that is apparently way better than the already emotional scene in the Final Cut that we’ll never get to view
No, Gemma needs better self-control. I spent a weekend in jail (plus got a year of probation, had to get counseling for my anger issues, and had to do like 70 hours of community service) for attacking someone. My family, friends, the police, the judge, and the person I report to for probation all told me I should've had better self-control. It was all on me. The person that triggered me wasn't to blame. I had to listen to that lecture for a whole year. Well, everyone still took my side in the situation and I was still considered the "good" guy in the situation, but I should've approached stuff differently. Or just not done anything. So with that, Unser did nothing wrong. It's all on Gemma and her lack of self-control.
The Jax & Juice scene was actually a second take. Charlie Hunnam said the first take was one of the most moving performances he had ever did. The episode director(Peter Weller) said "That was the greatest thing I ever seen! That's a wrap!".............but it turned out...........no camera's were rolling. Hunnam said that what we saw "wasn't as good" as that first take. Justa behind the scene's tidbit.
Charlie does an interview where he breaks down the scene with his character and Juice, and it is super interesting! He talked about how hard he crushed it in the first take but they forgot to press record so this was his like second take or something.
It goes to show how much BS awards shows are... this series was never nominated for any category if im not mistaken. It would clean up with leads (actors), supporting cast, writing, direction, etc... Still my all time favorite show. Wont ever change!!
All this talk of Mr Mayhem, and in the end Mayhem was actually a Mrs. I hope you all watch the Mayans MC spinoff at some point. Not as good as SoA, but it’s pretty good and quite a few cameo’s through the series.
I watched this show before being married, before having children.... rewatching this now....with a wife and 2 kids.... this show tugs at the heart strings. Wild how life changes as you mature and have a family
9:10 -- Nikki: "" She was awake the whole time. See, we know "" hahahah -- FACTS again, girl . 19:20 -- I've never seen Gemma unsure about anything. The fact that she was stuttering, she was definitely thrown for a loop . 25:16 -- My stomach is in KNOTS. . 27:45 -- JUICE: "" All I am in here, is someone's ass hole "" -- Well, he's not wrong
This has all been building to the penultimate finale. Keep watching for the homeless woman, she WILL be there @ the end. I've loved EVERYTHING about SOA...but these last few episodes broke my heart. I'm crying ,watching along with you right now😢 How Charlie Hunnam didn't get an Emmy for his performance, I'll NEVER understand. I love him yest, today & for ALWAYY❤
Charlie explained that he did the scene with Juice to perfection, sobbing, giving it all, the best performance of his career, and then the camera guy said "sorry guys, I wasn't recording, we need to do it all over again". And that is the take they put in the show.
