They should really add workshop integration to allow players save their creations and you can upload them to share with everyone for faster usage, this way everyone is able to contribute to build great base assets or even whole castles.
@@SY-if9vj I'd argue that it would inspire creativity. People could see the things that others have done to get inspired about possibilities and people would be motivated to produce new things the community could use, knowing that thousands of others could benefit from their work.
I like how you felt bad for Kelvin after hitting him with that log and making him lose the stereo, so you built him a chair so he could just rest and hang out.
the better version of this is having the sticks inside the structure because when they are fortified with stones the stones must get hit for damage to be applied to the spikes themselves. so its best to have the rocks "armored" behind other structures to ensure you dont have to replace them
@@chadmurphy8927 nah i dont do youtube. but this video over complicates shit tbh. lay a line of logs down where you want the spike wall at. put sticks infront of the logs but as close as possible, once you place those sharpen them and then put sticks in between those so theres no gaps for enemies to get into. sharpen those and then add rocks once that ground layer is made now place a stick near the log and try to get the dotted line to line up so the placement marker is ontop of those ground logs. place the stick and jump on the log and now you can place them on the log its self. once you get the sticks on the log, sharpen them and add rocks to them, then do it again so theres also no gaps on this row. once foritied with rocks again then add quarter logs and then another row of full logs and repeat the stick steps. you dont want to go higher than 2 log layers, this will trick the AI into thinking they can do their climb over animation over your "fence" but because of the sticks they cant. behind your spike fence add stairs or a ramp so you can attack from behind and your golden you can even put down a row of normal log walls first, THEN put down horizontal logs directly behind them and add sticks ontop of those so when you sharpen them they clip through the log wall i have it so i removed every other log from the log wall so i can still spear through my walls or shoot arrows through. ultimately you wana have another row of spike walls around 2-3 logs infront of your main spike wall for when those long john guys come along. they will glitch through your first wall
@@chadmurphy8927 make a defensive wall then just place sticks behind it so when you axe them into spikes they'll clip through the defensive wall so the pointy end is outside your base while the base of the spike is inside and protected.
Dope video! I like the no dialogue and the playful nodding along with the tunes - just gameplay that explains itself. 8:35 almost made me spit out my milk.
I know there's 'better' ways to do it where you clip the spikes through walls, but this is the most aesthetically pleasing one for me. It's straight up a spiked wall, and looks awesome. The amount of editing you did when you were jumpcutting for your stick placements and sharpening is also respectable. Hahaha
Great build! Seeing you methodically build it shows you've memorized and optimized the design. Checking out your other videos, you're really good at mastering things. Also, I like the no dialogue approach. I've thought about making similar videos to this with Sons of the Forest or Valheim. I haven't gotten used to my commentary voice yet, but using it could open up a lot more potential. I subscribed, let's see where you take it!
Dude I don’t know why but why tf was this hitting the right spot, at first the sound of the rain and then the boom box on kelvin too 😎 lol great vid bro 🤘
Spiked walls like this are better than the regular palisades because the spikes prevent the mutants and cannibals from just phasing through your walls. The AI is also dumb and will keep ramming themselves into the spikes until they die. It also takes less logs to build just a spiked wall and you just have to farm up stones+sticks in advance.
Thank you for taking your time to make this. I made a stucture sort of like this, took some time.... The canibals don't much care, they jump over them :/
if you use a creek that has a decent size trench you can line the sides with spiked walls, have it lead to a gate and leave it open to have a automatic cannibal cheese grader ;)
good base I built one xd and it is the best.A good base is also on water when it is winter the water freezes so you can build a platform and connect them with links
A day in the life of a Kelvin enjoyer Btw could you make a vid on how you would build an entrance for this type of wall setup, to get back in your base.
take him with u when u go to a place where a boom box is and there u can tell him to take it with him. ;) both of u have to be pretty close to the box.
nice design but without stones you would have to keep doing them again, maybe put the stairs in last if you can so you can reach to put stones in then put stairs in?
Sorry to tell you but if you dont reinforce them with stones, they break after one hit. So its useless later on. better put them behind palisade walls, sticking them through the wall or put them BEHIND horizontal logs (1/4 log height).
Very nice trick, i gotta do it, but first i need to buy the game, but first i need a gaming pc, before that i need money, but first i need a job, but first i need to apply for a job, but first i need to get up from my bed. Yeah i think i'm going to keep watching videos instead.
