$15,000 for a pair of the Sonus Faber Olympica Nova III's is not for everyone we know that, we get that. But for those that can they seem to be a great speaker, with that 3D imaging that seems to be rare. If you had the means would you buy a pair? Plus the center? Plus side and rear surrounds? Price would be going up in that scenario would the price tags scare you away from them, or would you build around a good pair of speakers, an expensive pair of speakers, like the these Sonus Faber's?

I would love to see Erin get his hands on something from Sonus Faber to see how they perform!

I demoed these a few times. Probably would have bought them if I did not fear the “no grills” with my kids. They are hair shelves down at 2-3k and a hair tipped up at 10k. Round slightly warm bass. Running on Classe’ newest delta line. I ended up with the Revel 228be which sounds pretty similar and I got a screaming deal on them too. The revels are a touch more transparent in the mids and highs. They are a bit flatter across the board. All in all both very good speakers.

@@junior-OG yes delta amps would be good with revel but I use McIntosh. I demoed the Sonus Saber on the deltas.

@@psyphonyxaudio yes for sure I would have bought them at the time. I ended up liking the sound of the Revels which I demoed later just as well which were cheaper and had real grills. I think the Revel is a better sounding much worse looking speaker. People have kids, Nephews and grand kids…. Speakers need real grills. I have a dedicated room with a lock but still want grills as I like to share movies and music with my young kids. They are very good about not touching things but I can’t trust their friends. I wonder how many sales brands like Sonus Faber, Magico etc lose over not having grills for some models. Even Kef makes you order grills, crazy.

@@psyphonyxaudio yes for sure. My wife still talks about the Nova III as she wants a pair for her living room system. Sadly their good looks are their downfall. No way I could keep kids and guest fingers out of them. I see kids playing with those string grills and who does not want to touch the wood work lol. She has a pair of Thiel 2.4 at the moment and people seem to leave those alone…. So far.
