Welcome back to the channel. Today I decided to pickup myself a Sony A90K in 48", interested in seeing how I like this when compared to the other options such as the LG C2 OLED that does come in A similar size.
Guys, I was unable to create the time stamps per my mention in the video, forgive me but made this in a crunch and then headed back to what I needed to do. Enjoy the video and let me know what you guys would like to see if anything on this guy. I’ll be making more videos this evening around the a90k! Max Luv
Just bought the 65 inch X90K and I can honestly say that Sony has stepped it up against the rest of the competition in the television business, this TV has great picture and vibrant bright colors!
i'm guessing most people watch these "unboxing" videos so they can re-box if they need to. Don't know why everyone skips around and doesn't show everything, but your did a bit better job than the others showing where the plastic panels emerge.
I just bought a Sony A 90 K yesterday on Cyber Monday. Not a gamer here but I enjoy watching sports and Star Trek. I have been watching hockey and football the last two days and its looking awesome. Star Trek looks wonderful. I find the tv very bright compared to my 13 year old Sony Bravia at 32 inches. I actually backed off the brightness a bit. Lots of settings to set it up just the way you like it. The build quality is impressive as well as the overall performance. Master Class indeed !!! Good review my friend. Joe
Decided to purchase this 48" Sony A90K OLED TV (as a non-gamer) and connect it to my PC...Lots of sports and movie watching while surfing the web!...Good times!
I’m upgrading to the A90K coming from an A9S, which I really liked. Didn’t use the A9S for gaming but it was great for 4K movie discs and the sound was excellent! Hoping I’m just as happy with the A90K
Nice Video man! Just got my A90K 2 weeks ago. This is AWESOME, The Blacks and the great 1080 /4k Upscale is great. BUT my question is: Today a notice that the panel is tilted back 1 or 2 degrees. I think that's how it's supposed to be. Correct :) ?
I’m excited to for the Sony a95k oled 65inch I’m buying that tv also. I have Sony a1e oled tv 65inch that oled has the best detail. I still really like my a1e oled. I like your videos thanks.
I dont really understand why Sony does not use film protectors on its tvs.. Lg Samsung and other tvs have it. Last TV I bought from Sony was a A80J and I noticed the display had a lot of light scratches which was disappointing of course in order to see them I would have to use a 🔦 aimed directly to the display.
Congrats, man. You’re the first to do a review on the A90k. I’ve been waiting for this tv to come out since the announcement back in Jan. the only concern I have with this tv is, does it have the matte finish (semi-gloss) like the a80j, or is the screen glossy like the LG OLED’s? If you could let me know, that would mean a lot. Just flash your phone torch at the screen and you’ll know what I mean 😂I didn’t buy the A80j, cause of that matte finish, it looks dull and the colour contrast isn’t as vivid like A80J 77 inch.
I actually like matte finish cuz it doesn’t reflect as much light as glossy screens. Some would say blacks look grey but my current Sony TV is matte finish and I like it. It is just a preference. I am gonna pick the 42” at some point this year.
Funny story. For years I worried about tv cracking/breaking because you heard about them breaking after setting up.so I babied all my tvs. Then I saw a guy throw a iron pole at a screen. It broke but the plate behind held. So lately when I was moving my 55" 2011 samsung out of storage to be bed side dusplay for a sick person. When I did I man handled it like a toddler. I can't believe I worried about. That things is a tank. Given thst it feels as thick as a quarter iys impressive. I've moved it like 4 times this way.
Thank you. Personally I’ve no issue with their remote, feels the best in hand in my opinion, but Sony is having a really great year with build quality on their remote, I must admit! Loving my A90K. Congrats on your purchase.
No sir. Got a90j last year. Don’t like Sony enough to stack models, this one has been on radar due to its unique size, now people will see why I sold my 48” C1. Am getting A95K but that it. Won’t buy another Sony probably for 3-5 years. Next might be 8k
What is the SCreen covered with is it scratch resistant glass? is that why it has no film? how is the input lag in games on old consoles like ps4 and ps3?
Input lag doesn’t vary on older games, it simply is always the same. You might face more latency if you are using an adapter to convert signal to HDMI, but anything that plugs directly to the tv using HDMI is going to be the same. It is not scratch resistant, I have no idea why Sony doesn’t add film to their tv.
I'm planning on getting the 42 inch version of the A90K to replace my 32 inch Sony W650A from 2013 this year to save $100 and some table space over the 48 inch version. I was wondering, does attaching the stand require screws or is it something you simply attach?
@@AllAboutTKK That’s odd. I have the A80K and all the screws are Phillips if I recall correctly. I think there was a screw driver in the box so they do give you the tools you need to attach the legs.
The built quality looks better than the A9S that I have. I noticed how the panel is reinforced with a thick plastic plate which the A9S only has the panel exposed. I should have waited for this one, but it's too late now. So hard to tell, but is the screen glossy like the LG OLEDs or more like semi gloss like the A80J and A80K?
@@AllAboutTKK Well I take that back, I'm glad I got the A9S then. I was going to wait for the A90K, but feared for the screen finish wasn't going to be glossy, and that's the reason why I bought the A9S instead while it was still available because it has the same glossy finish as the A90J and the LG OLEDs. I also didn't like the new downgraded remote control of the A90K. It lacks way too many essential and useful buttons.
@@teslaliveus860 word. This screen finish is better in my opinion, direct light behind the tv is fought much better. The glossier the OLED the worst it looks with light going against it, in my opinion.
@@AllAboutTKK Yes, that is true. I does however, reduced the contrast just a bit in a bright room with the blacks slightly elevated. This is from my observation of the A90J next to the A80J. I did read that the screen finish from the A80K is an improvement over the A80J and that is slightly more glossy. The A90K might use the same screen finish as well. I will still buy the A90K as it is silly to not buy it for the screen finish it has. Of course this one will go in my parent's room where it's much brighter than mine and where the screen finish will ward off the reflections better.
I wouldn’t buy it if you can’t use it. I bought it because I got rid of my 48” c1 tv when I found out it was going to be a thing. I think If it makes sense go for it, but the screen finish is better than other traditional OLEDS from LG by way that it fights light. By a margin for me.
I got a questions bro. If Im doing video editing first then gaming second (Xbox series S) and I do all my shooting with sony cameras which tv is better for me LG C2 or Sony A90K ???
Hey partner, I’m reaching out to you so I subscribe to your channel. I like the things you be doing with the TVs I’m a TV enthusiast home theater enthusiast as well. My question to you is would you recommend me purchasing a Sony a 90 K 48 inch here I live they still got a retail that 1399. I’ve been trying to hold firm to see if they might lower at Best Buy seeing that the TV is two years old, I own a plethora of high-end TVs like yourself from Samsung to LG and I’m really digging this little TV
Just to watch some movies on it maybe some sports it’s going to be my office TV when I just wanna get away and go in my office do some work. I turn the TV on watch a little bit of Netflix on there and things are that sort.
@@MikeLondon-m69 okay. For the money I would go C4, as I do own that also. Its caught up. And just offers more for the money vs this two year old panel. During this year this was the best 42,48 ever! Times have changed in 2024, 2023 it was still the King.
@@AllAboutTKK that’s what I was thinking too and for that kind of money I could probably get more screen size because that’s my biggest dilemma is that it is two years old and they’re still a hole firm at 1399 kind of money there’s newer technology out there to be honest with you I know you mentioned the C4 but I was always thinking maybe that SamsungS90c as they do have good deals on that as well for the same kind of money
@@AllAboutTKK it's my first OLED tv. I'm not sure what setting these tvs don't have. I was trying to update my picture settings like my friends tv and I don't have those options. Does this means OLED tvs do not have this ?
@@AllAboutTKK thank you for all of the help! Would this be the same reason I do not see extended dynamic range option as well? I'm subbing. Youre so knowledgeable
I really hope that sony ditches that mediatek chipset and co processor that limits to two hdmi 2.1 ports (that cant even do dolby vision vrr 4k120 at the same time!) next year. Such a let down on such good displays.
@@AllAboutTKK thank you for your reply. Should I check out the Samsung QN90B even though it’s an LED? Or the LG C2? it will be in my bedroom. I will play XBOX Series X and PS5, as well as watch movies.
@@AllAboutTKK thank you for the reply. I think I’ll check out the LG C2. I’ve seen a lot good reviews on it. And saw a lot of good reviews on the C1 last year. Just want to make sure, I make a good choice.
Separation. This is there premium small tv offering to challenge LG C line. The A80K offers the larger sizes in OLED. The A95K will be the best of their best.
Thank God you said it man. "You can't settle" Sony charges the HIGHEST premium for all their models over their competitors yet offer from a software perspective very much the least of the main brands. Sony is PAID by Google for their Android TV platform. I'm assuming at least cause Google would offer it free to collect analytic data on the user. I mean look at the X95k, what a joke for its pricing. 3k!?!? for the 65 inch! Sony outsources their Tv's from LG/Samsung, they get their mediatek chip from an OEM. The only thing they create is the picture setting software with their XR chip which LG does with their a9. I have an 80J, but we can't let bias or favorites stop us from calling out the absolute nonsense companies do.
New sub here. I like the a90k but playing cod on it, i can definitely feel the lag(delay) in the action. The picture is gorgeous but Sony needs to step up the gaming side.
@@AllAboutTKK I have a dual lg gl850 setup. Lately I've been using the Asus pg42uq oled and it's definitely snappier. This is strictly for gaming. I think mixed usage, i would definitely prefer the Sony.
@@AllAboutTKK i can definitely concur that the sony processing is amazing, I have an a80j as well but for gaming purposes the Sony is just slightly behind to put me at a disadvantage at least for console gaming. I have yet to try my pc out just yet
Does the sony a90k loose brightness automatically like the C2 does. ABL i think its called. People bitch about the C2 doing this. Does the sony do the same thing
