Thanks so much for the review! I'm ok with f/4 versus f/2.8 as I don't really shoot portraits. The macro capabilities look pretty good the AF issue with birds is too bad though. Are you at Yates Mill for this video intro by any chance? Looks like a great spot.
Beautiful footage, but it seems like because of the teleconverter it seems not sharp or detailed. Perhaps if you're doing wildlife, then it's best to go for the 100-400mm sony.
I feel so conflicted. I own the 28-135mm PZ. Is there a lens that's like 100-300 or something? I feel like if I buy this lens I'll be supporting duplicating efforts
I hear you! Check out the 100-400mm GM. I am in the same situation in the Canon world since I own a 24-70 and 100-500. I haven't personally purchased a 70-200. It all depends on what you shoot though.
Looks like TC X2 + 70-200 F4 II is seriously bad setup. Had same issues with TCx2+200-600, super soft and ugly rendering. Wish they remove TC compatibility to trade other benefits, like more focal lenght or lowering size. TCs are so devastating for image quality and overall rendering. Wondering if TCx1.4 is also so bad as TCx2.
I'm wondering if that AI cheap is doing anything as you say for video it's like the previous generation bodies and way behind Canon. Are you sure you were selecting the mode between birds/animals/insects correctly? It's pain to change it frequently though!
Yes, I even tried several modes on the same subject. I’m not sure if you are familiar with my channel but I have extensively tested almost every Canon and Sony camera that has come out in the past few years.
