Great for video. But I think it's a bit noisy/blurry for photos. Anything you have experienced?

Not really. I've quite liked the photos I've taken with it. Definitely not as good as a proper DSLR, but it's great for personal photos.

Hey, Awesome vid, your a6300 ones confirm my decision to get it. Wondering if you can help me out with lens choice. I am really keen to get the sigma 18-35 with adapter combo as in your LA art district video as it gets awesome reviews everywhere and could use it in the future if I upgraded to say a BM EF mount. However, autofocus is a big part of the upgrade to the a6300 for me. How do the speeds compare for continuous autofocus tracking between the sigma 18-35 with mc-11 and to the native sony 35 1.8 used in this video or say the sony 16-70. Are they similar? What would you recommend? Thanks!

The autofocus on the Sigma 18-35mm is good, but not perfect. Sony lenses are much faster with autofocus, but not as good image quality as the Sigma 18-35mm. It all depends on what you need. If it's fast autofocus, then go with Sony lenses. If you want better image quality (at the cost of SLIGHTLY slower autofocus) then go with the Sigma 18-35mm. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the fast reply! I'm confused now at the start you said sony are much faster but then the end you said only slightly slower autofocus haha :) I really love the image quality of the 18-35 and really want to justify getting it, i just havent really seen any isolated video autofocus tests with it, is it fast enough to say keep up with a walking person when the lens is fairly wide open? Thanks for all the help!

+Ivo Hayes I meant the Sigma 18-35mm is slightly slower in autofocus, but it is fast enough to track people walking.

Oh yeah I understood that, just meant because you said sony are much faster with autofocus at the start of your reply. Oh that's good, so in your opinion would you recommend i get the sigma then? For me it's really either the Sigma 18-35 + Sony 50 1.8 or instead Sony 16-70 f4 + sony 35 1.8. Sorry for all the questions, thank you so much for answering!

Again, it all depends on what you want to achieve. I prefer the Sigma 18-35mm over the Sony 16-70mm. And I prefer the Sony 35mm over the Sony 50mm.

How's the stabilization?

Pretty decent in my opinion. It's much better when you're in AVCHD mode because they're less rolling shutter, so stabilization is used at its best in that mode.

good job. i am not happy with my Sigma lens which does not support OSS. I guess OSS Lens help a lot for video stabilization.

Thanks! Sigma is good is you're using the a6500. Sony 35mm is good if you're using the a6300/a6000.

I know this is an old comment but I exclusively use my Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 canon lens + speedbooster in 120fps on my a6300. It is much sharper than most Sony lenses and in slow motion the only thing even remotely noticeable is shutter issues. I use an OSS lens for all 4k 24fps shots.
