Man the timing of the video! I finally just got my A6400 about two weeks ago and I’m eager to learn everything I can. Who better to learn from than the dude that inspired my decision to get it! Cheers man.
RE Grey card, did you know SONY lens caps are Grey for this purpose. I only found out a few weeks ago, thought I'd pass it on. Take a photo of your SONY lens/body cap in situ & in post you can have exact white balance matching that colour coded grey.
I've had this camera for almost 2 years now and i've never found a more easy and helpful guide before. This camera may look very little but is a pure beast, i've never been happier with a camera before and i still use it so much to this day! Awesome video dude :)
I am planning to give myself this camera as a gift on my birthday coming Sunday. I will just pause this video here, and watch it again when I have a6400 in my hands to do the settings along with this video.
@@angelmarinelarena3342 yes I do now :) though I have bought kit lens which isn't that great. Will play around with kit lens for an year and gift myself a good f1.4 lens next year
@@No_PRO8L3M it's a great cam. One tip. Turn off when not using even in between 2 clicks. It's battery drains super quickly. Also if you are extensive user, manage digitek spare battery that is available for 1000 rs, as a spare one when you go for an outing or event photography
Bought this as my first camera today brand new 🎉🎉 i picked this coz i think it can handle all i can think for it, casual or some professional photo or videoa and 4k video
One thing to be aware of if using Continuous Shooting Hi+ is that you lose the ability for live view in ‘real-time’ panning. In other words, if following a moving subject the camera will not let you see the moving focus points properly. It's better to just use CS Hi which give you only one or two less frames per second
Quality post, Curtis! (Which custom button is assigned to “Tram Mode”?😊.) Kidding aside, there’s a function menu “on steroids” that is seldom hyped, but super useful (a throw back to SLR menus). In shooting mode keep pressing the Display button until you see a screen that shows lots of settings but no live view. Informative, but here’s the trick: press the Fn button to “light up” one of the settings. Use the directional wheel to move to a different setting of your choice (it lights up, in turn). Next press the center button to get to the screen that lets you change the setting value. Cheers!
Great Video Curtis, these Tips have defiantly helped with setting my camera up for photography even though I use a SonyA7II I was still able to change the settings to the same ones as on the A6400 or a similar option.
I am a mobile photographer and I'm interested in buying a professional camera. So is a6400 good enough for me, is it worth getting this camera in 2024. I need a camera mostly for photography. Thank You.
Great video! I just got my a6400, and this will help me get started. I've been using the a6300, and it has a totally different menu. More power to you! 🙌
Got this camera today! 🎉 learning learning I started and still had a Pentax k70. Good cameras but to heavy and dslr. As i like street photography i decide to start using mirrorles ❤ Love this camera a6400
can you run us through a cleaning routine beyond the internal auto cleaning. I find sad smudges on my images at times from forgetting to clean my lens before the shoot. So I have started a routine of using the internal cleaning device, but I wonder if their isn't more efficient means, like with a fluid that might repel dust? Even further perhaps cleaning lenses, perhaps even mold "proofing". Thanks for any efforts.
I’m planning to give myself a camera for b-day present 😅 and being a beginner, after doing some research, I chose Sony a6400, due to everything it provides to someone who is just starting and because of the price as well 🤭 I already watched your video which is great btw but I’ll be back when I get my camera ❤
The a6400 is incredible. Yes the 6600 is better in a few ways. But not the ways that are important to me. So it was a waste for me to spend the xtra money. The 6400 is absolutely still worth every penny. I came from an a6000. The building quality is a million times better
this is what i was coming from. I had the a6000 kit, i picked up a few pieces of glass i use regularly (stopped using the kit lenses a while back) and decided i could sell the kit and spend an extra 100$ to upgrade to the body. Well thats what i just did, waiting on the a6400 to come in in a few days after selling the a6000. People on some groups said its not worth the upgrade and to just go to the 66 or 6700. im like.. 100$ isnt worth the upgrade when it has wayyyyy better auto focus and build quality and the chip is significantly newer? surely these people are pulling my leg lol. plus i have batteries and accessories that can fit the a6400 from the a6000 Hope you have been liking it, i cant wait to get my grip and main lens on it to go shooting.
A6400- if turned on in Memory Recall mode, the submenu for selecting which memory you desire is not anailable but if you turn the camea on in any other mode and then change to Memory Recall mode the Memory Recall submenu is displayed and you can select which memory you want. Is this a glitch with all A6400 cameras or just my camera??
Considering this camera - still worth getting it in 2024? Upgrading from a Nikon D5600 - very keen on the eye-focus auto focus and lower light capability for concerts
Very worth it, got mine around 9 months ago coming from a canon eos 7d, best decision I’ve ever made. But now I’m making the decision to buy a top of the line lense or fully upgrade to the 7series
Yea all my options look different on the FN of my 6400, I just purchased it new and half the things on you Manual mode “M” are different on mine? Help!!!!
196 Like great video , I buy A6400 3 years ago brand new still seat in the box, try it few time to confusing , but with your video now I am willing to learn and give it another try, been use only my iPhone 13 ProMax for most my video. Great detail video thanks for share...
Hello, I have a question. Have you used imaging edge desktop? A6400 to macbookpro version ventura 13.5. Previously it used to work. But it connects for about 1 second and then disconnects by itself. Every time Try asking and following the basic steps, looking for information, following them and it's still the same. Is there a way to solve it?
I purchased this camera recently for Toy Hunting , and Toy Reviews instead of filming with my phone . The Sony 6400 is the first camera that I have ever owned , but I can't seem to figure out if I can pause a video when filming verse having to restart another video any help would be appreciated.....
Ayy that's awesome enjoy your new camera and thanks for picking up my presets! I have done a setup guide of the sony A7IV, I'll leave the link here and hopefully it answer all your question! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z3iVbCc8bHs.html&ab_channel=CurtisPadley
Yes, but you should get full frame lenses if you’re thinking of buying a full frame camera in the future. So you don’t spend lenses with different camera sensors.
Hi Curtis. Love your channel! Thank you for sharing your experience. I recently started using a Sony a6400 with a Sony 35mm 1.8 OSS lens. But I'm not getting super sharp images. I shoot in RAW + JPG Fine. I've shot in auto-mode and in manual-mode. I've noticed that the camera is requiring a very high ISO for proper exposure. For example, in doors or good light, it's at about 1600-2000 ISO. AP and SS are normal. Is there some other setting I am unaware of? High ISO could be why the images aren't super sharp.
Ugh, this video reminds how much I hate my a6400. It basically ruined photography for me. Like a computer, it changes settings on me, that I don't want changed. Also, you can't simply toggle AF tracking on or off, you have to change focus modes first. You can't just shoot single shots in AF-C because it will look for anything that moves and change focus to it. I really hate the low res EVF. It's just no fun to look at compared to an OVF. My old Nikon DSLR was so much more straight forward, but it's too bulky for travel. So F Sony.
Um.....yeah you shouldn't use that name. Im sure you were flagged by law enforcement. CP photos in law enforcement means child pornography photos, its an evidence classification. Its used by the court system in 60+ countries. Unfortunate naming. So someone in law enforcement sees that a person posted there or has viewed it they will be flagged. Im surprised nobody has said anything to you.
Quick question, if anyone can help: I want to turn on Picture Profile for video. I can grade on Resolve. But turning it on also does the same thing to still photos. I don't want a flat look for my stills. Any solution or do I have to manually turn it off everytime I shoot photos?
Aloha~ i have Sony a6400..still learinng about shooting photo/vlog videos...what would be best settings for 4k videos & photo in sunny outdoor scenes...Mahalo!
I returned my canon m50 mark ii with today last day on receipt shewww and I just ordered the a6400 bundle with the 18-135 mm I can’t wait till it comes
