I love the vidoe step by step, birds view to see each item names, prices its like the perfect guide setup i fucking love the video man subscribed and liked
love that you added the price in top corner, so interact with the viewers. if you could make a video with a full frame camera like the Sony a7iv would be amazing!
SmallRig for sure is the MVP. So many options to choose from. I already can’t wait to do a bit of upgrade 😎 and thanks Lars, glad you liked the video. Slowly but surely moving towards that milestone haha
@@TomsJurjaks I had an idea Toms. I'm pretty sure you use an iPhone, would be a good video to see you use the smallrig cases for them with the lens attachment etc maybe a "shot on iPhone" type video 😊
Thanks Antano. Before buying A6700 I was thinking of buying FX30 but chose A6700 because I think its better suited for me (hybrid shooter). FX30 is awesome for videographers, but I dont think A6700 falls short on video either, so I chose A6700. And same with A7IV. I have it too and chose it over FX3 just because I do both photos and videos. Ultimately, its up to you for what you need, but A6700 is enough for me and I dont necessarily need to use A7IV all the time because A6700 is enough so unless you have paid jobs where 2 SD cards is a must and super low light is required, I would probably stay away from Full Frame cameras.
Hey George. Unfortunately the V-Mount Plate itself doesn't have Arca Swiss, but it does have some holes on the bottom so you can simply attach the most basic arca swiss plate (or the one that I have in this video).
* 3:17 heads up the top handle with record button is not compatible with a6700. It does not have usb c to connect to camera or nato rail up top. I reached out to small rig and they confirmed it was not compatible.
Oh noooo, would you know if it would work if I would find the right cable? I have bunch of USB-C cables, but they are all too fat and don't fit in the handle so I didn't find a slim one yet, but I wonder if it would work if I would find one.
@@TomsJurjaksI’ve tried several other cables and I got it to connect to camera, but record button won’t do anything. I think it would need a firmware update which smallrig does not seem to rushed to do if at all
Hi there, I know this it's a bit late to ask, but do you have an alternative you would recommend for the SmallRig V mount? I want to build a similar rig to yours, but I can't seem to find that one or a similar one anywhere in my region, or maybe a different mount all together, thanks!
There are alternatives, but most of them require you to have rods so you have to have a baseplate that supports rods. Alternatively, there are vmount battery plates that already have all the ports on them, but they are typically more expensive. Try to look for that piece somewhere else. Amazon or SmallRig website itself perhaps?
Very nice looking setup! I wonder what benefits does this external battery has comparing with regular powerbank? I'm amateur, so my question may sound stupid :)
Thanks! Usually powerbanks have one or two output ports (usually USB-A or USB-C) so if you want to power 2, 3 or 4 devices, powerbank might stop short. Essentially the battery is a powerbank, but a lot smarter. It has different power outputs for each port and lots of protection. Also, there is no convenient way (usually) to add powerbank to your setup, but for these batteries you have that nice V-Mount.
Firstly, I haven’t had overheating issues even without the setup and I am located in very hot country. But following your question, I believe the external battery + dummy battery in camera should mitigate it because dummy battery does not get warm at all. Last week I was filming with this setup at max bitrate of 600mbps (4k60) for almost an hour in mad heat - the camera of course was hot but didn’t even give a warning.
What happened at 7:44? lol I thought it was my stupid computer as usual but it wasn't then I thought youtube freaked out LOL. I kinda liked that gitch LOL
And a slight audio delay from there on 😑 Its RU-vid’s upload that failed as the original file is fine (Thanks RU-vid). And no worries Tony - your computer is all good, you are not the only one being scared for a bit 😀
With the original sony kit lens:- Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens (Black) Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens How good are those lens for low light ? Ofc am coming from a 1" sensor camera at 2.8 apt which kinda sux at low light... Will i see big improvement ?
It’s basically the camera that will determine the most the low light capabilities. For example, a6700 has dual native ISO which means they are pretty good when it comes to low light. Regarding the lenses, I think those are really bad for video. They have varying aperture and they are “slow” (f3.5 at best). What you want is a zoom lens with f2.8 (Tamron 17-70 f2.8 is my recommendation) or get a prime lens. Something like Sigma 30mm f1.4 is perfect.
@TomsJurjaks am not sure I'll be able to afford those lenses, but my concern was shooting for basketball games indoors well let and soccer matches with decent lighting at night, u think those lenses are good enough professionally shooting or no way around it I gotta invest in better ones ? Tha k you...
Well you can shoot with whatever lens but I think the ones you stated above will get in a way more than they will help you@@dronetheworld4k67 I personally would not commit to shoot with those lenses. Find used primes, those will be the cheapest, Sigma has a lot of offer. Viltrox is budget friendly
Close hahah rigging the camera nowadays definitely costs an arm and a leg, but someone who is a hybrid shooter, I am trying very hard to make A6700 as good as a photo camera as well as video camera. This for me ended up being cheaper than getting cheaper than getting 2 separate cameras 😬
Hey! So Currently I’m making the decision to jump on the Sony train. I have a canon r50 right now and it’s lasted me a while. But the lens options aren’t good, and Expensive! Overall just haven’t been the happiest with canon.. Being able to shoot high frame rates with the 6700 and having slog is a huge plus for me. I’m into filmmaking and shooting content myself, but wanted to know if it’s a smart move? Thanks man 💪
Hey Mooks. I think you are on the right track. One of the beauties of Sony’s system is immense choice of lenses, not only Sony’s, but also third party and maaany cinema lenses. And if you invest in Full Frame lenses, you will be able to use them across ALL Sony cameras which is a huge plus if you wanna switch cameras/upgrade etc. A6700 is amazing, truly great camera for the price. FX30 is another great option for you if you just wanna do videos, but I find the more classical “hybrid” camera setup better for me as I also shoot a lot of photos. The only downside of a6700 if im being very honest is that you get quite a lot of noise when shooting at 120fps so you gotta make sure there is tons of light. Nevertheless, I hope you make the move and achieve your goals buddy 💪
@@TomsJurjakshey man! I really do appreciate ya.. I made the move to the a6700 a few weeks ago and I think it’s safe to say it was the right decision hands down 🤝 thanks a lot bro!
