Sony A7iii vs Canon 1Dxii Lowlight Test | Who will be the king of lowlight? 

No denoising in post? Loving that sony shot, should have mine in a day or two. I called out B on the blue led light shot, it definitely looks good. Warm tones do look amazing on the sony.

All clips are strait out of camera no denoising at all. the only clip that was edited was when i showed how to change the color of the sony back to blue.

Brandon Washington ok so you just “dialed that number in” vs used a grey card or white sheet correct? It does make a difference between the two methods.

I dialed it in based on what I use in my office all the time. Primarily just wanted to get the setting exactly the same on each camera. That way it was a fair fight. lol

Dave Oplinger stating the obvious. 1Dx2 way superior and it is a pro camera. We already know which camera has the creamiest 1080 120 fps. While 1dx2 is a monster of a camera you have the toy like A73 for less money. You get what you pay for.

If you shoot the c200 in raw absolutely. It gives you clog and raw which helps a lot with the shadows.

Yes the custom white balance for each camera was 3200k

Nah it was set to daylight which was weird still don’t understand what caused that.

@@bwashmedia Day light is also a "preset" meaning its not necessary the same across brands. Again, if you manually set the white balance, you can get them looking exactly the same.

I wish they would add a firmware update to add 200mbps 4k and 1080 120fps. The hardware could probably support it tbh.

the canon looks more film like because of the colorscience. eventhough it has a higher bitrate it processes information way worse than the sony. just look at the sony having way more details and a cleaner image than the canon.

I mean I'm not a Fanbody when I've been shooting canon since the original 5D. What I'm referring to is these RU-vid camera reviewers that literally switch from Canon, to Sony, back to Canon and then to Sony in like a one year timeframe. They say they have loyalty to one brand or product and it's the best thing ever yet when another company is sponsoring them or are making money off a product to then in return advertise the brand though YT or other social media channels then it's just annoying. Look at the huge influx in so called "camera reviewers" they all have opinions, and I'm not saying Brandon Washington is doing this because I do like his channel, however less than a year ago when he states that the 1dxii is the king of cameras or it's still amazing in 2018 and he basically will never or couldn't imagine anything else replacing it, that gets old. Then you have A7iii vs the world or this VS that and it's just such a saturated market of just the same old shit. I do agree with your last comment, Sony is the "KING" of mirrorless and will probably stay that way as the Nikon and Canon equivalent just don't add up to what Sony is doing, Fuji I think is also great with their XT3 and it's specs. But me personally I just don't like smaller mirrorless cameras. I like bigger cameras, I like Canon for what they are and that is just how it is. I'm not saying one is better than the other, I just use what I use as a tool to make some fun videos and shoot photography. The truth doesn't hurt because to you yeah Sony is #1 and to other people it is too, however it's not my cup of tea so who is the real fanbody? You maybe for being in love with Sony, I'm not judging it's just a personal preference. It's not apples to apples your post is just invalid.

spot on - We have the A7SII the A7III and the 1DXII - I dont give a damn for brands used them all - But between the 2 here Im on with the Canon. Sony is getting there fast and will probably be there with the A7SIII - but not yet for our needs even the A7III is a hell of a cam.

Yeah I hear ya too. I mean I've shot with A7Rii and even tested out the III and yeah I do like the files it produces and sure If I wanted a camera to just toss in a small bag I would totally be down for the Sony or even the Fuji is fantastic. I loved shooting with the XT1 when it came out, but for me I'm just a DSLR guy and I think I always will be. I'm not a tech spec guru but I do remember a comparison between the 1dxii 120fps and I think the A7iii and people were just not liking the Sony and if I remember correctly it was because of the bitrates. Sure the Canon files are huge but your recording 120fps at I think 500mbps and the Sony is only at 100 or 200 something and that would make a difference. I don't mind the MJPEG files even though I will need to invest into a new HD to store footage but the clarity of the file for me is great. I will say this though, whenever the A7Siii is released I'm sure it's def going to be a major step forward and will be a fantastic camera with wow like specs, but as in all technology, give it a year and I'm sure fall of 2019 before the 2020 Olympics Canon will top it with even better specs or so some people will hope. And then it goes back to a never ending cycle. I'm just thankful for what I can afford and to have a great hobby at the end of the day. I don't need anyone on YT to tell me otherwise and to each their own.

I don't think a fanboy is just about the amount of time you've been using a camera brand but also being so loyal to a point of being blinded for or to a product, company hell or anything i guess for that matter. What you posted the second time gives a more balanced view to me than the first statement as a whole. The first statement that i was replying to sounded very fan boyish to me but hey I could be wrong in fact I will say I was wrong. Anyway it's without saying we all can shoot what we want to shoot or whats best for us Canon, Sony, Fuji, Pentax or whatever but I would say just like people change so does their views, understanding of things and products, even cameras and brands. Ps.Yes I like Sony, but in love with Sony lmbo thats a stretch even on RU-vid lol. Sony's not #1 in my eyes but in global sells in the FF mirrorless market and I don't think my 3 Sony cameras played a very big part in that, it took millions of sells for that. Yes, I do like what Sony is doing but it's just a different tool but hey it's the tool I use the most so maybe you can say it's my favorite.....So far. My go to lenses for weddings are 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 is. Even if you have to rent them they are worth it and it will make the shoot go so smooth.
