i just bought the camera like a week ago..I just love everything about it, from its menu appearance and ease to use, great handling, superb quality, price to features ratio..to the customizable buttons...pair it with g master lens, hands down it is the best hybrid gear u could've ask for, just the excitement to create like never before w other cameras i used before (jumping from Fujifilm system)

You really showed what potential this camera have with your beautiful footage. I sold mine a few months ago because of the rolling shutter and the (to my pixelpeeping eyes) poor APS-C crop. The noise in those cropped shadows look very blocky and patternesque and to me it's worse than the actual noise Sony is removing before we get to see it. And if you like me want an APS-C camera and don't care about the photo side, there are cheaper alternatives with more features. But I gotta say, if you can't make the footage out of this camera look somehow decent, no camera will.

I switched from the EOS R to the A7 IV too, now that you mentioned it I know why I keep finding the A7 IV LCD a little lacking. Overall, I think the A7 IV is a better camera just a bit more designed for non-casual users. Enjoying my switch immensely now that I can actually use lenses that I want to use and not lenses that I have to use (because of lack of options for RF glass).

You copped another sub with that beautiful footage! I really agree with the flexibility aps-c mode offers as I was in the scenario you mentioned, transitioning from crop sensor glass to full frame glass over a few months. Like others have said, when you come from a camera with the old a6xxx sensor, the rolling shutter on this is nowhere near as bad, and s35 mode to eliminate it has been my go to.

I love this camera, the image quality is insane and mind blowing, its just that the crop is killing me and is the main reason why iam saving for fx3, but i will keep it as b cam, the combination of 33mpbx photos and the extra reach on crop mode would make it perfect to combo it with FX 3 or atleast thats what i hope 😅

I own the a7iv I think at the very least they could reduce the 4K 60 crop to like 1.2x 1.3x or 1.4x instead of 1.5x they did a smaller crop for the a7rv so I don’t see why they couldn’t reduce on the a7iv it’s the very least they could do to help them and there customers or maybe remove or make a mark 2 I reckon if we work together they will have to listen and make a change and with your large platform and influence would really help if you could spread the idea around thx

Great work! How do you nail exposure? Do you set certain zebras's, camera metering, etc.

If I don't use an external monitor, I usually have the zebras on with a level of 95 and either expose how I like it just looking at it or the meter 0.0-1.7 I recommend that if you're shooting slog3 since I only use that profile!

Bruh Thank you for giving examples of the crop !!! I’ve watched so many videos and mfs are like “ya it’s cropped” Seeing the side by side really helps my lil brain Hmmm the crop is major And I see how it could be beneficial I’m kinda leaning towards the Sony AvR Ive never had a sony camera so as a first buy idk what to get. I’m a hybrid shooter though

I don't think you can go wrong with either! the a7rv has crazy video specs for it being the "photo" camera and it has more stabilization options and more autofocus options. I think it just depends on the budget you're on but either will be a great pick up!

I am planning to switch my Sony a7 IV for ZV e1, because of video capabilities. I don shorter videos for social for the most, and I hate 60fps crop on 7Iv, also new AI capabilities on ZV e1 are amazing. What do u think about it?

honestly this cameras rolling shutter ist that bad since i uprgraded from a a6400. that thing was so bad compered to this. like i would almost get a 45 degree lines with a 50mm eqviulant and a medium speed pan in 4k. the crop kinda sucks sometimes, but its quite usefull to. but the best thing has to be the dynamic range i could get out of this thing, it was the main thing that made me buy it over canon r6

There's such a lot of noise at 0:40! Was this out of the camera or just some added grain? Or on your skin at 0:58, or clouds at 4:59. What ISO was that?

Everything is shot at the native iso of 800 or second base of 3200 but for all those shots I added grain to get a look i wanted!

aperture was at 2.8 the lowest and iso I always keep at the base 800 or second base 3200 if I need it

As a hybrid shooter, do you have to constantly tske your ND filter on and off or do you just keep the filter on?

Sometimes I do take it on and off depending on the situation but if I can get the shutter speed high enough to where I can still keep it on, I might not take it off!
