@@Henbu No problem! it's a pretty amazing feature. makes shooting in dim situations actually viable. never imagined id have usable footage at 25k iso. Peace!
Wow, love the in-depth experimentation with the color grade man! Super helpful for seeing how far this camera can be pushed, thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! 💯✔🙏
Nice video bro!... BTW it would be awesome if you do a comparison video with the SLOG3- ISO 12800 (dual ISO) vs HLG3 with ISO 2000 (dual ISO) just only for low light situations.. cheers bro
Henbu! Quick question and excuse my ignorance for not knowing this answer but can you use your new luts only on the Sony A7SIII? I have a Sony A6500 and love your luts so I would love to use them with my current picture profiles. I've used your past videos to setup my profiles as well. Thanks again !
haha i sorta agree, i had a expectation about the a7siii giving me insane cinema colors, but that's not true. its what you put in front of the camera thats more important imo! I do have to admit, i can go farther on my color grades and stretch it on the a7siii. indymogul did a side by side comparison of the venice 6k and the a7siii and honestly i could hardly see a difference !
Hey Henbu nice vid, still watching it. I would just add that your audio is all over the place on this one. I know how taming audio levels can be a world of confusion for myself, so thought I'd let you know you can see from your stats for nerds (right click your video, it says "1.3 db") that your OVERALL content is too loud. -3 is the sweet spot, and -1 is the loudest you probably want to go. RU-vid compresses your audio if it goes above 0db on the overall lufs. There are tools you can get to measure the overall lufs of your final audio track. Your voice is really low compared to the music and sound effects. I would suggest making your voice louder. Just my honest feedback.
@@Henbu Can you do a video for the promise filter? and also your handheld rig? I've been noticing I probably need to use my ninja with the A7S III everytime I'm shooting because I only have two 128 cards for it.
Nice video Henbu! The Dynamic Range looks similar to my Panasonic S1, so that's pretty good for this Sony A7SIII. I also like this new colour science, much better than the one from A7III!
I got my A7S III in and I would really enjoy a video going over the recording formats and such! Definitely going to get some luts man! Keep up the awesome content!!
sorta of a long meaning behind it haha but the short story is, under dog, odd man out, always have struggled to fit in to the norm. maybe ill talk about it more in depth on future videos haha
@@Henbu sounds rlly interesting 👏 also keep up the good work- actually started following for your skills but I rlly like how soothing and authentic your personality is 💫
In a7sIII SLOG3, stop once you have to go past 3200 ISO, just jump straight to 12800 and continue to overexpose 1.7 to 2.0 as usual and you will continue to get sexy lowlight footage.
@@Henbu no problem man. Something about native ISO for each individual profile and when that "dual native" jso kicks in. HLG kicks in at like 2000 iso vs SLOG3 kicks in at 12800 (which I think if you compare HLG at 2000*? and SLOG3 at 12800 in identical lighting conditions, 12800 is roughly 2 stops overexposed. I dunno the science behind it, but essentially it doesn't matter what PP you shoot on the Sony a7SIII, the lowlight performance is the same. Gerald Undone video explains it a lot more scientifically than my dbag ass could, but from testing I found it to be legit
I have a question. In your old video you used hlg2 709, why did you decide to switch to hlg3 bt.2020? I am a 8-bit camera user so I was just wondering to find out which was better for my type of camera.
Hello! I want to buy your a7siii luts bsc I really loved the Autum one, but kust realized that one is for HLG, I need it for Slog3, its possible you make the same one for slog3?
You were at a bad iso in Slog3, if you get to 4000 you'd better skip it and crank it up to 12800 where the image is clean again. Different picture profiles have different usable iso values, you can't compare the same iso value in slog3 and HLG
Isn’t the noise level of hlg3 at 1000 iso the same as the noise level of slog 3 at 4000? The dual gain iso nature of the profiles is different, I get your overall point but I’m just saying in some shooting scenarios your noise observations are moot and slog might still be better.
Great video 👍🏽 Would you recommend (profile in camera) HLG3 in Rec709 instead of BT2020 ? I’m having more problem to color grade bt2020 Thank you for you answer 🙏🏽
