Having watched a number of videos on the A9iii this is one of the most informative with details I had not heard elsewhere. It looks a incredible camera with definitely facilities I would like to have, but 24mp is just not sufficient for a wildlife photographer where often I have to crop images, so I am staying with my A1.

I'd choose a rolling shutter but immortal shutter mechanism instead of a mechanical shutter which dies eventually.

Good preview… but I’m curious to hear your thoughts on noise. Take for example that image at 0:18 in the video. The girl shooting the bow and arrow. It looks to be shot in daylight; yet it’s super noisy. This is seemingly really bad performance. What’s your take?

I disagree it's "super noisy" but it was probably shot at a very high ISO in order to use the 1/80,000 shutter speed to freeze the action of the arrow. Try taking this shot with your camera.

I don’t frequent archery events. But that said, I’m confident my Canon R3 could be utilized to capture such events professionally. But as for the A9III you’re making a lot of assumptions as to settings. I’ve seen no data as to what those settings actually were.

@@angryrabbitproductions1690 Your confidence is misplaced, the R3 could never capture the same image even if you had all day and an unlimited number of arrows to miss shots of.

@@angryrabbitproductions1690 As far as the settings go, any proficient photographer could make an educated guess as to what settings would be necessary.

Hi, thanks for watching and for your comment. The images are a little noisy, and you are right they were shot in the daylight, although right at the end of the day, so the only real light hitting the archer was on their face and shoulders. This is around ISO 12,800, so I could crank that shutter all the way up - it's also hand-held at 600mm using the FE 300mm F2.8 GM + 2x Tele. These were also straight JPEGs due to the RAWs being incompatible with Adobe at the time of shooting. I would, however, really love to see how the Denoise feature will handle these. I hope that helps a little.
