good job with the video. I bought one recently and am very, very disappointed with the lack of APPS available. no Disney plus, no ESPN plus, no Apple TV. not sure if more apps will be added soon or not but the basics are underwhelming.

I have the. Sony s370 still 2011 and the x800m2 since 2018.

Thank you for this review. I found it helpful, as I just purchased a BDP-S1700. Being a confessed Sony fanboy, based on some generally great experiences with their products' quality, performance, and reliability, it looks like this entry-level Blu-ray player with its simplicity and wired Ethernet input port is perfect for my setup with my Sony ES AVR and its built-in Ethernet hub. Wired Ethernet is not for everyone hooked on wireless internet (wifi), but that solid wired connection definitely spares one of many typical or chronic wifi connection headaches. Sketchy wifi is simply not "good enough" or "acceptable" to cranky oldtimers like me who remember when things actually worked reliably with an "on" and "off" switch presenting the biggest user challenge - next to the "volume" knob. All the best.

Disappointingly when playing a CDdoes not get CD info from the internet - An LG Blu Ray I have does do this!

I bought this blue ray yesterday in Walmart, works great but make a lot noise when have DVD or Blu-ray disc, is normal?

This is an older model. It doesn't have WiFi which really sucks IMO. It requires a LAN cable and an Ethernet modem. And it doesn't even come with an HDMI cable, so if you don't have one lying around your house, you're shit outta luck

All I have is a hdmi cable leading from product to power supply socket. How did you get yours to work. Are you leaving out parts or something???
