The fan by your ear is actually an intake, not an exhaust fan. So, the air is rushing in past your ear, not out. It's still annoying, agreed, but it could be worse, if the air was going the other way.

Dude, I love your videos and enjoyed this. I can’t believe you spent £25k on a camera when you already own good cameras. I really don’t understand why your videographer business would need to invest £25k on a piece of equipment when you could just hire it. Especially when you already have decent cameras

I think the Burano is disappointing when you consider it's pricepoint. It's a GREAT camera overall and no doubt will find it's way on many sets and into productions, however, if I'm spending $25,000 I would expect it to have less IR pollution, faster readout speeds and a less picky IO when selecting codecs/framerates. Maybe firmware could help with some of the issues but Sony is known to launch a camera and then move onto the next iteration without much legacy support.

Honestly, it's not really the image or the specs that drives me to Sony. I just like the layout of the camera. Especially in recent years, they really hit the sweet spot of the amount of functions on the body and the placement of those buttons.

Can this camera be used without the default monitor? Or does it always have to be used? Example, use it on a gimbal with an external Shinobi monitor attached to the handle.

Congrats. You could easily get a decade of use out of this camera. It might be overpriced by 5K but this is still the most complete and versatile camera for the price. Also, the camera will likely pay for itself within a year.

It would be interesting if you did an image comparison between the lumix s5ii and the sony Bruno to see the difference between a 2,000 camera vs a 25,000 camera 8k vs 6k top vs top.

X-OCN LT (the only flavor available in Burano) is 1556 MBps in 8K/24p. It's just 389 MBps in DCI 4K/24p. These file sizes compare favorably against ProRes 422 in both modes. But, they are considerably higher than BRAW.

Definitely different, the FX line camera steps up nicely from FX30 all the way to FX9, But there is a different direction in the jump when you go into the cine Alta Burano and Vince.

It looks like an extremely capable camera, and people will do great things with it, but it will take a decent chunk of time for a small production company to make that money back for the sake of a few nice features. If you're shooting narrative or big commercials I think people are still going to lean towards renting RED or Arri for most of the time, so the Burano feels like a tough sell no matter how good it is. I still want one though obviously 😅

It’s a fantastic camera, just WAY too pricey compared to the competitors. Especially since you achieve rolling shutter to deal with Other than that PHAT specs come cam with IBIS with internal ND with raw capabilities etc etc Just the rolling shutter is a no no, wished it actually had the sensor from the A9iii and improved on that

Mate, I know you love this camera, you’ve been looking forward to it but dude. £25K is a chunk of change for your business… it’s not worth it man. Just to say, as a Sony enthusiast shooter, I will not be hiring this in on any shoot, the IR pollution, the rolling shutter and the drop in debayerd resolution at 6K FFc, for £25k (and the rental cost owner ops will want) has made this a non starter, it’ll be Venice and FX9 if we go above FX6 for doc work and still Raptor and LF for commercial work… You’re a decent fella so I mean no disrespect but have a real think about that £25K, I’ve been there with the first Red Dragon 6K (£20k+ and whole lot more after), I know what it’s like to have that purchase all sewn up in your mind, no one could talk me out of it. @@mantasjockus for £10k the rolling shutter on the FX9 is ok where as on the FX3 and FX6 it’s great!… you could own all three of those cameras plus a gimbal setup for the FX3, media and batteries fair all and an external monitor for the cost of the Burano… that’s a pretty decent business investment. You could also go with a used Venice 6K at around £8K less. My comment regarding the Burnao is not that it’s unusable, far from it, I shoot high end doc and often squeeze the Sony A74 in there somewhere, perfectly fine for interviews but at £25K you really do have to ask yourself if the rolling shutter, IR pollution, softer 6K, lack of overlays on SDI is ok… I think it’s not, £25K shouldn’t buy you a Venice 2 but it should buy you the FX6 rolling shutter, it should buy you controlled IR, it should but you video village friendly overlays and it really should buy you at least a 6K downscale option that isn’t raw but that maintains the resolution of the sensor. 6K is probably going to be most people’s go to but once side by side with a good 4K camera that 6K won’t feel like something you can truly punch in on without worry (which happens a lot in Doc work). I think without significant firmware improvements or a price reduction the Burnao is going to go down as a bit of a lemon for Sony

I'm still struggling to understand why this $25k camera in 2024 has such a terrible rolling shutter. Especially from Sony! I would much rather get a used, fully built out Venice 1 for cheaper.

So no… the eye piece is really the only thing good about it. Image quality is pretty good too, very Venice like, maybe Venice 1. IR pollution is terrible, rolling shutter readout is like 28ms. It’s over 20k… very sad
