This DAT deck from 1991 is known to have a problem with leaking capacitors which eventually destroy the PCB and other components. This particular deck was completely overhauled by an experienced DAT technician, and although thr machine now powers up and all the functions are working, there's a huge amount of digital distorsions when playing a tape.
Note - after replacing the tension tape guides in the mechanism, the distorsions almost disappeared !
