Does your Sony still work flawlessly? I heard lots of problems with factory fault of a sensor glue brittle over time causing videos to go blurry/not in focus. How's yours? Gopro hero 7 digital stabilisation looks like mess.

What is the maximum size sd card for the x3000? And is there a skeleton case to allow mount on a helmet and deal with external cables... mic, aux power in?

I have the x3000 and it's a piece of shit. Good picture but no bluetooth audio, garbage software, unable to hear audio streaming video to a phone unable to use as a webcam source on a pc like every other even cheap action camera, and the audio peaks so bad with an external mic its unlistenablex and there is no option to reduce the db. It's the worst action camera I have ever owned.

Great review as usual. Note the microphone and ext mic sony has put a cap on decibels at 0db meaning anything over that is simply cut out. So if you take the camera over 40mph the sound will be bad. Thats not a knock, its a great cam, and ext mics are not really the intent for use in the action cam world. The fix is use a separate recorder wo a cap where you can set input level like a zoom h1 for audio.

Cover up the mic with a small piece of sponge and a small rubber band. A one dollar fix and works like a dream.

Hello et merci pour vos review. Pour information et après avoir eu plusieurs Gopro, j'ai acheté la Sony x3000 il y a 1 mois. Après quelques jours et test, j'ai constaté que mes images n'étaient pas net, surtout du côté droit de l'objectif. Plusieurs personnes ont eu le même problème, voir youtube (out of focus). J'ai redonné la caméra au magasin et j'attends maintenant depuis 3 semaines...Sorry d'ont write english..

Hey Bashir awesome Review Video, even though Sony's X3000 is a bit expensive but It is Worth buy Action Camera because of that Optical(Balanced)Stabilizer and Video Quality is excellent and Impressive just like Hero 5 Black, Only one thing is very bad about this Camera Like Sony is not at all good at Naming its Product Sony FDR X3000 LOL First time I heard the Name I thought of New Spin Off Terminator Movie haha Loved the Video Cheers😅✌

I have had one of these cameras for 6 months and would like to flag up 2 things I wish I had known before I bought it 1) SOUND. I have found it difficult to get good audio from this camera. Invariably it picks up the slightest gust of wind.....more so than the camera in my Samsung S6. 2) limitations of the live view remote as a viewfinder. I find it small, lacking in definition of image, useless in bright sunlight and clunky.

Small correction: Sony M2 Memory Sticks are not capable of high bit rate recording. MicroSD U1 are capable up to 60Mbps, and MicroSD U3 are required for 100Mbps recording.

7:50 it is not completely mechanical. The active mode used both: digital and optical stabilisation.

Just add a GoPro mount adapter, plenty on Amazon...screws into threaded base and allows you to use GoPro accessories...

@@iftibashir THATS why i prefer cube shape.I usually attach to my shirt and just bike or walk-you cant do that with the sony.Dont the designers ever ask themselves why other action cameras are cube or square shaped? Worse-its only in white-like who prefers a white action camera over black?? really sony???

Looking at the specs of the GoPro 6 Black, the Sony still has higher bitrate and optical image stabilisation - other then 4K at 60fps, its still ahead of the GoPro. Off course, I'll need to get hold of a Hero 6 to test....... ;o)

iftibashir unfortunately, nobody cares about sony action cams, because almost everybody buys gopro because of the form factor being more practical because of the 2 inch touchscreen, the size and the way that the camera is composed, the camera hold is better to hand cams, that ones with the strap, so i dont think the price you pay is worth buying the sony, if you can buy the hero 6 for 400 dollars, and the acessories are mainly for gopro, like ishoxs, and other brands make acessories for gopro not for sony, and the gopro hero 6 dont need a waterproof case, onky if you want to dive more than 10m so the sound will not be muffled as much as the sony one

I guess it depends on how you mount it - on your chest the GoPro style camera mounts better. On the side of a helmet this Sony will stick out less, etc....
