Yes- Our cable TV provider has both analog and digital, so old TV's still work here. Some communities also have lower power UHF stations that are still active- those you can also receive over the air.
Fortunately, the boards in these are not multi layer- they are plated on the top and bottom. If these were quad layer they would be difficult to impossible to fix.I am going to show a video of how I do the plate thru hole repairs soon.
That's a great peace of machinery you have got there, i would love to have one of those. It's incredible that today we can have all that and much more in a single cellphone. About the plate-through-hole, wouldn't that fix (drilling) ruin the device even more in case of a multilayer pcb? I mean, are plate-through-holes used to connect the various layers in a multilayer pcb?
Hi Chris, I got one of these.. with an AC-v30 power supply. When hooked up to power, I can't even get it to turn on. No lights, nothing.. any ideas? The AC is shiwing the green light for power, and i think the adapter that goes to the GV300 battery slot seems to be fine..
I guess this video answered my question from your previous video. I was wondering if you could still pick up over the air broadcasts now that the transmission has gone from analog (NTSC) to digital (ATSC). It appears as though you can based on the opening of this video when your changing channels. Thanks.
Hi Chris. Just got a gv300 on Ebay to convert some of my old 8mm Video to digital media. I plug in the unit and get a message "batter failrure" and unit blings and shuts off.. any ideas? thanks
Hi, any idea why my sony gv-200 has a blank white screen? I have 2 like this. I re-capped one but it still has no picture. Could the trimmer be causing that? I haven't replaced that yet.
Hey Chris i just found my GV 300 lol, I had since 1992.. Do you fix thereat all,, also you were right about the Molasses , feel that on there,, its sticky.. also my eject tape does not work,, let me know if you fix these , or if you know anyone who does ,, would like to get it re done,,, and YESSSS I paid over 1000 for it,, would love to play back my old 8mm tapes from 20 years ago I still have my Sony TVR 99..
