Sony HDR-CX675 Full Product Review Using External Mic

GREAT JOB. I SHOULD HAVE WATCHED LAST NIGHT. I USED THE CAMERA THIS MORNING, THEN SAW YOUR HELP VIDEO THIS AFTERNOON.

I wish you could do a demo of the audio playback when you playback the video.Some digital cameras and camcorders have a volume level where it sounds like someone is whispering.I really want to try this digital camcorder again to see if the audio is good.I know it is 5.1 which means it is not going to playback at low volume level.

Oh wow! Thank you so much. I bought a similar model HDR-CX405 Sony. I was able to use the tip you gave to be able to record in 1080. I originally bought it for traveling and family but right now I am using it to record our Sunday church services. This model does not have the jacks for mic and headphones and no hot shoe. I want to use an external mic like the one shown here, but this model only has the multi and usb plug in. Please let me know if you know one that will work with these. Thank you and God bless you!!!

Great video! I think including the adapter and a link to help people with mic will be very helpful. I noticed in your screen shots for resolution it was showing 29/fps Does it record 1080p at 60 fps or just 30?

I found this to be very helpful, I did set my new camera up as you suggested, but for some reason, I cannot find the button or setting to record in Dolby 5.1, after more experimentation, I found that I cannot record Dolby 5.1 when the setting is at 1080. Although I can at 740. I noticed on both of your examples you are recording in only stereo?

Things not explained in this video. 1) Camcorder has internal memory and SD slot 2) This product uses BOSS (Balanced Optical Stabilization System) which is in eyes of almost all reviewers considered to be the best in consumer products. 3) MIS is Multi Interface Shoe which means it has contacts which allow for communication between camcorder and dedicated accessories like sound recorders and lights 4) XAVCS is a consumer version of codec used in proffesional camcorders. It enables to record in higher bitrate therefore giving a little bit higher quality and a bit more abilities in post production.

I have the same camera and mic setup, yet I keep getting constant feedback that makes the audio completely unusable. Any way to alleviate this?

We are using Sony hdr sr1 model with Ahuja external powered microphone, our Sony camcorder has external and inbuild mic options ,so we are using external mic to record our lectures, it's wireless... But it brings air noice..kindly help me to record videos with clear sound quality.

I have my volume turned up all the way and I can barely hear you. You might running your audio through a compressor or limiter to improve your audio. Most of the more pro level editing softwares have them. Otherwise a very helpful video.

Your volume is WAY too low. It's about 1/20th the volume of everything else on youtube. If I plugged in my headphones and cranked the volume to max it might be possible to make out what you're saying, but only because I have really loud headphones.

That looks silly as hell I did almost get that cam but that hotshoe proprietary Bs made me go with a Panasonic

lol 32 giga bits of memory. The audio is horrible. I was considering this camcorder, but after listening to the horrible audio in your video, I think its a piece of junk. I will buy something else.

Thanks for the video. I have it set to XAVC S HD and 60p but when I download the videos to my iMac (2009) using iMovie the videos don't look HD at all. They look grainy and very much like SD. Do you know why this might be?
