The sound coming from all speakers is ONLY in 2 channel audio content like you tube videos. But in True 5.1 Dolby digital movies like in Amazon prime, the 5.1 channel separation is brilliant and perfect for a small sized room. The rear speakers and other channels works exactly as it is supposed to with amazing Dolby 5.1 sound channel output with crystal clear channel seperation and NO such issue of same sound coming from all speakers. Considering this as a 5.1 dolby digital system, your review must be focusing on its Dolby digital capabilities and not on some stereo channel you tube movies which does not make any sense. None of the You tube content is 5.1. I own it and I know it's 5.1 performance and will strongly recommend to any one who wants a theatre effect in a bedroom.

@digit - If you want clear channel separation, go to menu>Multi-speaker> Off. This will disable the channel extension. If you ARC connected. Turn multi speaker on for music and off for movies

@@rajeshr8121 while playing dolby digital (5.1) content through netflix, the subwoofer screen is showing dolby digital but muting the surround speakers. Only for PCM format surround speakers are working. Is there a solution for this? Tried multispeaker settings On and Off as well
@@floydr14 I am using Netflix and getting perfect 5.1 DD audio in this system. The system is fully capable of delivering crystal clear 5.1 audio if we do the settings correctly. I suggest you a few things to do to rectify your issue. 1. Ensure that the TV audio output settings are all set to Dolby digital or DD plus and also the output audio settings if you use an external streaming device like MI box for netflix. 2. Ensure that you have connected only thro HDMI ARC in TV using a high quality branded cable as its very important and DO NOT use optical cables as its not does not support many audio formats. 3. Multi channel audio can be set to on as it should work only for stereo you tube audio and it does not affect 5.1 audio. Your TV screen should also show Dolby digital on top when you play 5.1 content. And SR and SL speakers in DD works only when needed and not always. Hope this helps and please let me know of your issue was solved...cheers 😊😊

But while putting into that setting and watching Netflix HD content on Audio(5.1 surround) i face the issue of surround speakers not working at all even when surround sound is required. While putting to PCM it works. But that's same stereo sound in surround speakers. Currently I'm using Amazon HDMI 18gbps cable. Not able to find where the issue is lying.

I bought this and going to return this. Some important details about the soundbar. - There is no tweeter. There are small ports for each speaker. The Center channel has 2 left and right has 1 and surround speakers have 1. If you don't look carefully you might think those are tweeters. But if you put some light then you'll realize it doesn't have any tweeter. That means the sound from the movie will not be crisp. Also, you'll not enjoy music at all. I am returning because of this reason. - Surround sound works well. If you set MULTISPEAKER ON then any 2.1 or 3.1 will be routed as 5.1. That means the surround speakers will be used for stereo input as well. This setting is by default ON. That might give you a feeling that the channel separation is not good. But that's not the case. 5.1 sound always gets through the correct speaker. Don't use RU-vid to test your speaker as RU-vid doesn't have 5.1. Use Netflix or another streaming app. - The subwoofer doesn't produce very good bass. It basically supports the lower mid. This is one of the reasons why I bought it. My previous soundbar Philips HTL3325 3.1 soundbar had a smaller sub that produced bass very well (room shaking in 4x6 m² living room). But HTL3325 didn't support mid. So it was too bassy. But this sony soundbar doesn't produce good bass at all. I raised the bass level to max 12 and still didn't found it enough while watching Mad Max: Fury Road.
It does have HDMI passthrough (HDMI ARC), it just doesn't work on all TVs, even if the TV has the HDMI ARC option enabled, for example on my Blaupunkt TV that has HDMI ARC and CEC activated in the menu, I can control the soundbar with the TV remote, but there is no sound, on a different Sharp TV it works perfect with HDMI ARC
HDMI and optical both gives dolby digital sound. If the source is dolby digital. However if you have an atmos or dts soundbar then you should use hdmi because optical are not capable of giving atmos effect. So as long as you are using normal dolby digital or digital plus soundbar you can connect to either one of them. Both will give the same sound effect.

Until you play in full volume no difference will be Heard.If you live in an apartment and don't want to get complaints stick with 400 watts s20r rather than ht3. Rest same features. 400 watt vs 600 watt = ₹14990vs₹17990. ₹3000 extra you can save for a dvd/cd player.

You actually cleared a very important doubt of mine. Ofcourse I don't like the sound coming from all speakers. That's not real 5.1 effect. I currently have tz145 and I am disappointed by it. Can you tell me which models have the other type of sound i.e. separate sound from each speaker only when required?

@@rohitkalkar8006 When the incoming signal is 5.1 the system only delivers 5.1 even if multichannel is set to on. So this setting does not impact 5.1 output in anyways so you can still keep multichannel audio on to enjoy youtube 2.1 content.
@@rohitkalkar8006 Go for the preset mode Music and set it to voice on using remote. This gives the best voice output from the centre channel as i am using this for netflix. And also set the SW to number 6 for balanced bass and make sure the sub is placed on the floor and in a corner of the room only. You can also increase the rear speaker volumes individually from the speaker settings using remote.

Ht rt3 has an annoying fan in the back so u can hear the fan in the back at low levels, s20 doesnt have a fan so no annoying noise, id go with the s20, but its completly your choice

Really Liked the review, we are planning to buy this can you pls suggest is this best product in terms of bass and sound under 15k, or else suggest a one pls! We are not much a fan of 5.1 setup.
This is a good speaker. You can compare reliance digital or Croma, get card cashback discount. Bass is soothing and you can adjust it and vocals are crisp in cinema mode.
It's better to buy JBL SB261 2.1 under 15000 if you are not a fan of 5.1 channel. Most people avoid 5.1 because of messy wires and wireless 5.1 are little bit expensive. I have JBL 2.1. I got it from Amazon by paying just 12000 bucks.

Guys Dolby Atmos is way it can't depend on how many speakers are present in system If it's 5.1 also every speakers come out of sounds not as we expect as earlier, back side sound should come out of back channel but Dolby Atmos means it provides you same sound out of two speakers even No need of buying 5.1 like me and ditched just buy which has blue ray player( amplifier in built) 5.1 so that atleast music will be punchy , must and should make sure it's Dolby Atmos option available. Dolby Atmos take cares of sound division among it even in 2.1 channel no matter you kept ur speakers front or back
Earliers 5.1 is the technology dts Now audios are Dolby so no 5.1 or 7.1 will seperate sound into individual channel and you feel ditch after spending 20 k So remember one point buy which support Dolby atmosphere And buy 5.1 system only for 2k audio seperation not for audio channel seperation

You can connect it to fire tv stick using Bluetooth. Fire TV stick has Bluetooth function. Or you can also directly connect it to smart TV. This sound bar only has one Hdmi port so you can't connect both firetv stick and TV to it. You can use optical port that will give the same sound effect because both optical and hdmi port produce dolby digital sound. You need hdmi only when you have atmos or dts soundbar because optical port is not capable of producing atmos sound.
Hi I am looking for same product and it looks good, but I have a issue related to connectivity. I hav LG 43 Led TV which has 2 HDMI (no ARC) and RCA output. No Optical link. How can I connect the soundbar with my led tv. Is Analog to Digital convert only solution? will the sound quality be degraded

This is a 5.1 dolby digital HT and he was saying in 2.1 there are many options not in 5.1 systems. At this price this is a brilliant HT, I can say that as I have it.
Just had a listen to one of these. Is the "bar" on its own supposed to sound worse than telephone quality? There's absolutely no mid or lower from the bar or the surround speakers. Is that how its supposed to work? To me that seems completely wrong as if you can't have the sub dead centre your voices and dialog will also be off to one side..
it depends on the driver configuration . i have a yamaha soundbar . it has twitter for treble, midrange for mids and inbuilt subwoofer for bass. if u have all 3 drivers covering the full spectrum ( highs, mids and lows) then u will hear it clearly. this is why bookshelf speakers sometimes sound better because they have 3 drivers in them or at least 2 ( 1 twitter for treble and 1 for midrange or a woofer for both midrange and bass) + added a subwoofer for bass If this sony has only a single full range or woofer or midrange driver, u can still hear all the sound but u cant hear the separation clearly unless it is a high quality single driver.

@@nikhilkumar9435 channel seperation and Dolby effect depends on the connection type and source content. Make sure the connection is thro HDMI ARC from your Tv and enable Dolby output from your TV. Next is the the audio source MUST be from Dolby digital 5.1 content like in Amazon Prime and Netflix and some Hotstar content. NONE of the You tube content is 5.1 audio even though it says so. So make sure all the above things are right and then you do get 100 percent 5.1 Dolby output from s20r. This system or any system CANNOT convert stereo to 5.1 audio. It must be encoded in the original audio source to get dolby audio. Hope this helps. 👍👍👍
