The thing that you said is meant to press against your ear is where the BA sits. Sony provides detailed internal layout diagrams. Everything about the shape of the Z1R is function driven.
@@Abhi-wn7sw I briefly compared the IER-Z1R and IER-M9 this afternoon, and found the former to be superior in every way, though maybe not so much to justify the price difference.
if the z1r doesnt sound smooth to you in the treble you are not getting a good deep fit. Its really essential with this iem and it will sound alot worse.
Thats what i call a comparison review! I cant stress it enough it aint about how many drivers or what type of drivers or looks etc.... Its about what tunning you like more
Love your reviews, this helped me a lot in deciding which one to get. I think we have similar taste in tonality, at least that is what I got from your reviews of other products.
That was a great commentary...I concur with a lot of what you have to say. I agree that the bass texture on the Z1R is probably as good as it gets though personally I found the quantity a little lacking for it to be considered a true "basshead" audiophile IEM...for that I would go for something like the Legend X. Also, in terms of driver breakdown for the Z1R I'm pretty sure the large DD covers bass and mids, the BA covers the treble and the second DD "supertweeter" covers upper treble.
Great review. Considering your preference for the U12t, the qdc Anole VX would be right up your alley. It's more resolving than even the U12t. The technical excellence is unrivalled.
opinions, opinions, opinions. Mine is completely opposite of yours. I sold the U12T after I bought the IER Z1R. Everything about the Sony just sounded better to me from the deep bass rsponse to the beautiful highs. Very natural, slightly enhanced bass, but overall the best IEM I have ever listened to.
Getting more details give more enjoyment out of some genres of music. So it depends on what you listen to. u12t is more of an all rounder where the z1r is only for specific genres (the one's you listen to the most). Have you tried the ie600? if so then how would you compare the 2? I would have bought the z1r too but the fit and comfort reports scared the hell out of me. I value comfort over sound.
I own both and Disagree with a bunch of what this guy is saying...To my ear the IERZ1R is the more detailed IEM with the U12T being warmer and tuned to be more relaxed..
Dynamic Audio Martuss yes that will drive it just fine it’s not super hard to drive but can also be driven nicely with full size amps like a full size Can. It’s a lovely sound. I ended up selling the U12T
@@kaankucuk1612 they are definitely bigger and made of metal. But you wear them like a plug in the ear and can position them comfortably kind of loosely yet still sealing and not have to shove them all the way into your ear canal like other IEMS… So they can actually be fine comfort wise for many people but people who have tighter than average ear canals won’t like the big metal shape… They can plug in casually and comfortably for large ear canals - nobody should expect them to wear like every other IEM on the market though - expect them to be a casually sealing plug of the ear not anything like a CIEM
@X X Lol, have heard few IEMs that can match it much less sound better, and I’ve heard plenty of flagships. I think I got hustled in the sense that I’m locked in more than anything ha
Expensive for sure, but fortunately more than 1% can afford them, depending on priorities. Most cars depreciate much more in a year than the cost of these IEMs. For those of us who can’t afford them, the are so many great options out there now for a small fraction of the cost. It’s a great time to be into this hobby!
Love the Z1R ......you need sound with the least components as possible...... I have had several high end IEM and BA's and EST's fail and at that point forget it..... I had EST's fail in my Noble Sultan and they never sounded the same and it took me several months to get it fixed and the same happened to my Shuoer EJO7.......My sets that I kept are the Z1R and the Ikko OH7 ......
Can you please review the Thieaudio Legacy 3. It is supposed to be the best thing you can get in Chifi. I am sure if you ask Linsoul they will send you one.
Have the Sony. Sold the U12T. Bought the L3 and for the price it isnt bad, but in no way is it in the same league as the sony. If you have the money to invest, save up, steal it, whatever, buy the sony and stop looking to buy anything else. Ive been chasing the perfect unicorn IEM for years and have spent thousands and have sold them all and the Sony is my endgame
@@LISTEDGames joke's aside B2 are great the only upgrade would be something totl but B2 is already kinda close. If you already own B2's next step up would be either of these
Hello, can I ask, is it really worth to buy U12T? (I am a regular AirPods Pro user that If I switch from Airpods to U12T, the difference will worth? Thank you) Also, U12T or A8000 is better?
@@kaankucuk1612 are you ready to make that drastic change? In terms of usability, it's a 180 change: you'll need a high quality output source in order to take full advantage of the high quality sound either the A8000 or the U12T can provide. And you'll have ti say goodbye to airpods' goodness: wireless, seamless connection, lightweight
Don't purchase totl high-end iems If you can't afford them for your review purpose and contents. Freeriders like you literally generate open-box items unnecessarily and all retailers should charge like 30% restocking fee to these cheapos.
I own the z1r and paid 2k, the cable is aight, its quality and see it lasting quite a bit but there are alot of better cables from cheaper products, for 2k+ on the u12 you expect better and not a plastic case, im just saying the accesories suck its a fact im not saying the u12 are bad or anything
It is possible to visibly inspect something without touching it to get an idea of its stress/strain properties. That cable does not look conducive to maintaining its shape. I may easily be wrong though but it seems Ruben has confirmed it.
