Very thorough demo of the NH600. I have one of these and will check to see if the headphone audio is worse than my other units. Glad you mentioned using normal discs in Hi-MD mode; It's nice to fit 2-3 albums on one disc but LP2 has noticeable quality issues so formatting a 80-minute disc in Hi-MD format means you get 2-3 albums and much better sound quality vs. LP and using MP3s you can in theory get better than SP.
Hello freund333, this is a nice device, it was my first minidisc unit wich I bought last year. I like that it can record pcm liniar even this is oma format. I discover that the record files has the same size compared to wav. Anyway, for me it sound good enought if i made my custom eq whit maximum treblles. Unfortunately, I don't have a 1GB disc...yet Thank you for your videos!
Yes I know, I also have NH700 and few other new models. The sad part is that you have to enter on RecVolume to disable the Auto(AGC) to Manual whenever you want to make a new rec. This (AGC) automatic gain control it kills me every time...
Yes you can transfer recordings from minnidisc to PC but in Hi MD format whit SonicStage. Is a software that works fine on Windows 7. It may work whit Windows 10. Search on RU-vid, you will find.
Yes me to it is funny to hear that motor I have a long coaxial cable for mics, First I bought NH600 for 25$ or something...next I needed pre-amp for mics, and I bought NH700..next NH900 next RH910...it's crazy! All starts about 2 years ago. I never tried to connect keyboard directly to minidisc.Try to connect to win10 but you will have to install drivers and SonicStage. I don't think BT device will work on minidisc.
96? Nice that you have glad many years to that deck. At that time I was listening music on walkman cassette player. Later, around 2000, I saw minidisc on the only Sony Center store from my city, but what a pity that I could not touch them because of the high price. It would be nice to have a club for minidisc users, to share experiences, but as you sad no one would never need them really, apart from us. :). They really are durable devices
Ist es nicht so, dass normale MDs, wenn sie als HiMD formatiert werden, nicht einfach nur ATRAC3PLUS nutzen, sondern auch ein anderes Filesystem? Meines Wissens nach hat eine normale MD 140(als MD Data)/160Mb Speicherplatz. Als HiMD formatiert liegt die Kapazität dann bei etwas über 300Mb. Auf minidisc.org gibt es eine schöne Tabelle mit den verschiedenen Aufnahmemöglichkeiten: minidisc.org/hi-md_faq.html#r_q93 Ich hatte diesen Walkman auch mal vor etwas über einem Jahr. Habe ihn aber wieder abgegeben. Der Sound War wirklich mies. Und durch die fehlende Kompatibilität zu älteren Decks und Walkman macht das HiMD-Format und die Disk für mich keinen Sinn. Denn grade die Beschränkung auf wenig Musik auf einer MD macht für mich den Reiz aus. Wenn ich 30Stunden Musik unterwegs dabei haben will, dann kann ja ich mein Handy oder einen Ipod nehmen... =P
I record on both Windows 11 and Windows 10 machines using SonicStage. You have to temporarily disable the driver signature enforcement in the computer BIOS to install the drivers and you need version 4.3 of SonicStage, the last one made. You only have to disable the driver signature enforcement once.
Hi my friend I appreciate your videos particularly the minidisc videos, I am a new owner of a brand new Sony minidisc MZ N707, I would like to purchase a Sony Vaio laptop Windows XP 2002-2006 era.. a laptop that can meet and exceed this minidisc recorders needs for years.. can you tell me more about pc/laptops requirements, minidisc software compatible processors and things of that nature, thank you kind sir
I never used a Vaio PC. So i can't tell you anything about them. All i know is that you don't need them or Windows XP anymore. I assume that you want to use SonicStage. But there are other modern alternatives that you can use on your modern operating system. There is WebMinidisc and PlatinumMD. Both are free and let you do the same things as SonicStage. So don't "waste" your money on an old Vaio and invest that money in some more Minidiscs or something else.
Купил недавно такой аппарат - не пользованный, правда без коробки. Так вот, у меня есть 2 пульта он предыдущих моделей: RM-MZ35 и RM-MC10L. На первом экран не работал, хотя переключения треков/стоп/пауза работали. А вот второй заработал полностью - экран показывал трeки, время и прочее. Плюс все кнопки тоже работали.
And.. also important. The NH600D not only no analog/optical input. But also NO DC input. So the D version only operates using AA battery. Kinda suck if you want connect to your stereo amplifier. So if possible avoid the D version.
