Looks like a nice upgrade, not enough to warrant switching from the XM4 immediately, but the reduced size, and better connectivity are welcome.

I just bought these due to my m4s terrible battery drain that seemed to be a problem for everyone. These are definitely a step up. The custom sound settings and the technology make them sound amazing! The battery is great...for now!

I know some have issues with the batteries in the XM4s, and the call microphones are terrible, but honestly I think they're the best ANC headphones in their price bracket available in the market. The XM5s don't look like a significant enough upgrade from the XM4s to make the switch, but I love the soundscapes the headphones create. Also that song is a banger and sounds fantastic on the XM4s - Predictable Life, Abby Holiday!!

I was on the xm4 for both the WF and the over ear. For the inear I moved to samsung galaxy buds and ordered the comply foam. Not buying Sony again.. Samsung souds super

@@santoshrane Each to their own. For me, the soundscapes on the Sony's blow the Samsung's out of the water. I also got the XM4s on sale for £150 before the XM5s came out, so for that price I think it's the better deal.

Nice new features especially, if the call quality is what the ad says 🤔 Aside from all the features, XM4 looks more premium. If Sony added this feature on XM4 design I would have loved the upgrade

Was the battery issue due to an upgrade? I've had mine since Nov 2021 and no metal part or battery drain issues as far as I'm aware... maybe bc I hadn't updated to the latest firmware?

Turning off DSEE and not using noise cancelation/ambient sound is the only solution ive found to get livable battery life (2-3hrs), but nothing compared to what they used to get pre update. Also phone calls of more than 5min in length drain the battery completely, its insane

@@hiwasgeht7945 it looks like you have no idea... XM4s had 2 big problems: The battery life after 1y+ effects many people and the other problem was the metal sound problem, where something becomes lose in the earpiece and you have to slide it back. just google for it /youtube search

I have 2 separate pairs of the WF-1000XM4 and both of them have extreme battery drain issues. I ordered some replacement batteries from AliExpress and will replace the batteries myself.

I had issues with XM4's batteries but SONY was able to address this and replace mine with a new set of earbuds. Supporting SONY all day product wise and customer service wise!

I went through 4 PAIRS of the wf-1000xm4s because of the battery drain issues over 2 and a half years of owning them. All under "warranty". When I called Sony a fourth time about this issue, they were backordered on parts, so they asked if I wanted a refund. I immediately said YES. Still keeping my wf-1000xm3s because they have been rock solid all throughout

Samsung phones have a hearing test feature to determine which frequencies you can't hear and it adjust the sound so you can hear them. As you age your hearing degrades and you can't hear certain frequencies anymore. Anker liberty pro 3 has this sound test too on their app. Sony should implement that in it's app. Also, the 5 band equalizer is pretty lame too. Can you have a 10 band at least?

I am still using WF-1000XM3 😮 they still intact since years ago. I just changed their batteries 2 years ago, however, 😅 they seem need to be batteries change again because they can't withstand more than 1 Hour and a half in full usage 😅

Xperia 1 IV, 5 IV, and 1V smartphones support the aptX Lossless codec but the shiny new XM5s have no support for this codec. The best we get is LDAC. Great job Sony, another innovative device in terms of sound quality (not really).

The question is: basically the right earbud is still the mother bud ("R" is red on the app)? Mono mode on the left earbud with Google Assistant activated is not possible for the XM5s then like their Linkbuds S? That's when the battery drain will be inconsistent too if some of us use one bud at a time, and in this case, the right earbud is the only usable one for mono mode.

I have the Sony WFC700N'S. The anc is decent. there is only a few downsides though. They don't have in -ear detection, no speak-to-chat, or diferent to enhance audio quality. They are good though. I'll give mine a 7/10. After seeing this ad, I know they will be better. Cya! W Sony!😎

Hi-Res Audio Wireless That only means they Support LDAC But Hi-Res Audio means nothing anyway. Lot of 30$ earphones are Hi-Res Audio while a lot of 1000+$ earphones are not

I think the design is much better than the XM4, however, it is a shame that its price is so high and so uncompetitive compared to other headphones from other brands in this range. Definitely the price is its worst burden, even more so considering the battery drain problem of the XM4. Apparently in the XM5 it seems even more difficult to change the battery if they present a similar problem.

Is it true they removed the feedback voice yano were ya take em out the case and the lass says "battery about 50%" or whatever or when ya turn on ANC says "Noise Cancelling". Is it fully removed or can it be switched back on.
