How long?

If you need to record a lecture, either put the recorder right on the lectern, or clip a lav microphone on the person and put the recorder in their pocket. The A-10 has a Bluetooth connected app used to control volume levels.

Absolutely I completely agree with you because I used to zoom and the sunny and I believe that the zoom is good for outdoor environment and Sony is good for recording ambient sounds plus if you were to do an interview I think Sony is quite nice

I finally bought the Roland R-07.

Increasing gain will make some difference. To change the gain, press up or down button (not volume button). I've been using this sony pcm a10, and i am quite satisfied.

@@MominNz I have mine for years and The A10 is in a completely dif league and that's why it also cost more. The Zoom is built like a toy in comparison and if you use external mics like a set of LOM or similar you will get a much cleaner sound, as the A10 pre-amps are very quiet and far superior to what Zoom uses. The built in mics can be a bit noisy but this is not an issue when using high quality external mics which is where this unit realy shines, use the app to control and monitor the levels for SFX and this recorder can be supper stealth. I use mine with the LOMs attached to a hat with the recorder in my pocket, and to others it just looks like your looking at your phone but in reality your monitoring whats being recorded.
