There's no game/chat controls on the headset itself, so you'll have to press the Link button 3 times to bring up the sound settings. If the audio balance slider is greyed out, it's because you're not in a party chat. You have to be in one to adjust the balance of that.
I understand the headset itself dont have game/chat balance dedicated control but it is a sony product for ps5… i cant believe the balance slider is greyed out with this too…
I sold my Maxwells out of a low level anxiety based on the possible quality control issues. I'm planning on picking some up again locally, as I guess I'm a sucker cuz I love the audio, but the biggest selling feature for me is the Sidetone without the mic installed is a good "Transparency" mode, if a bit sharp and shrill. It's loud and clear enough to hear my wife or daughter in the other room which is integral for me. Having said that, I would love a cheaper alternative I didn't have to worry about, and the lack of Transparency (and I guess ANC) is just a big of a deal breaker for me. Open Back headphones don't hit the same note. Appreciate the review! I think Audeze getting the funding from Sony might be a good thing overall.
Don't be an early adopter. Bought mine last week and they sound amazing and no disconnections, ever. Most likely they fixed the issues with the newest models.
@@zPabloZB I use them for work and gaming. I'm currently playing first descendant and Warzone and let me tell you the positioning is just amazing. No disconnects yet.
@alpharorschach8708 ye bro I have zero doubts in their quality!! Love the planar magnetic drivers in em. But when I have my phone in between the console and the headset think the 2.4 Hz frequently makes it disconnect.. Not sure if they'll push an update one day, or it's simply a hardware issue What pisses me off is that there's no recall for all units if yours is a healthy version of it
Great review brother. I enjoyed it. I got to say I love the headset. I bought a pair myself and returned it because the dongle kept disconnecting constantly and I managed to find a pair at another Best Buy close by I really don't care about the bass because these are just going to be a gaming headset for me. I'm not going to be using it for music or content on my phone. I do have Sony's xm5 for that. But what I do like is that they punch you in the gut and take you to an immersive world because games sound freaking amazing. I play World of Tanks on my PlayStation 5 and the game now sounds way better using these then their first generation pulse 3D
Hello.Have you by any chance tested the INZONE Buds? I’d be curious what you think of them sound wise and how do they compare with these Pulse Elite? Thank You!
What is the build quality over time because the Sony 3d pulse I had ,cracked on the ear piece and had bought another pair and that same pair had cracked at the top of my head
Headset is absolutely superb for FPS games from my usage (better than the Maxwell I had - imaging is far, far better on the Pulse from my usage) but is still far from perfect. The sidetone quality is pretty poor and I'm not a fan of the earcup connection to the headband. I hear the ear cups moving and feeding back noise everytime i move my jaw. The cup mechanism is just too loose imho.
Good review as always. I returned this one (and a few others) and stuck to the cloud 3 wireless instead, I think the whole Headset feels insanely cheap except for the ear cushions. Like it rattles so fucking much when you just move it around. Moving also instantly scratches the earcups, which is why they delivered it with a foam between the earcup and the hinge. The Headband is also questionable in material choice and not comfortable. And there is no way to adjust the clamp a bit, as in the default form it's really loose. The Nova or Maxwell at least had a way to lock the headband in different positions. Sound was fine, but I'm not too fond of Planar Magnetics for competitive games or vocal-heavy music. They sound like the Maxwell relatively distant, but that's a preference thing.
what headset would you recommend to cut out keyboard and mouse clicks? i have a silent linear keyboard and friends complain about hearing it through my a40s
